Default I am tired of buying a new vacuum every few months!

Hello,
We do new residential clean up and our bigeest most costly issue has been that our vacuum cleaners get clogged and either take to long to disassemble and clean or overheat and break. we have now broken 4 of them! The vacuums are getting clogged with the carpet fibers from the new carpet. I am seeking advise on the best vacuum for the job.

It is really hard to get the consistent information about the best vacuum for the job. Most people research vacuum cleaners in magazines, consumer guides and the internet. Thus here is a great article about the best Vacuum for the job. Check the following link:

what are the vacuums you are using? you're probably going far too cheap so having this problem. in the uk one of the best is the henry vacuum as they're fairly low cost, £95 approx, and can take a hell of a beating before they break.

I agree with imadam, Henry is the best brand for vacuums, even builders use it for the heavy and sharp construction rubbish...if it is possible to clean with vacuum of course. I use one of them in home and I'm very delighted.

Default Buy old Electrolux uprights

If you buy Electrolux then you're grandchildren will be using them long after you've gone to the great carpet in the sky.

You could also consider using your customers vacuum cleaner. Since you are the professional, it is often acceptable to have customers vacuum before you come. That way you better use your time and ultimately save them money.

The carpet fibers are perhaps bad? It so happens that sometimes the fabric thread gets pulled out in balls with vaccum or even a carpet brush. If it's not that what is it that mostly gets spilled over on your carpets? If you have kids around chances are that food chunks are clogging your machine. In which case use a brush to clean up first and then vaccum to pull out the dust and other particles.

You could still do one thing more. Consult a carpet cleaning professional and ask of them for the best solution for your fabric type. What you have mentioned could be the resultant of a wrong product previously used for carpet cleaning?

No, I typically ask my customers to vacuum before I arrive.

In my area everyone swears by Hoover for the lower cost vacumes and Kirbey for the high end vacumes. Kirby is actually made out of many steel components and are very durable. They are not cheap though!

Good Luck

I'm a big fan of Sanitaire SC 886 E, it's metal, bagless and I heard that some people were using it for over 20 years. I have had some of the older ones for 5 years without repairs, just changing belts and they are still working very good.

We have alot of cleaning companies that order all of their supplies from us. We tend to sell alot of Hoover Commercial vacuums. The C1404, C1414 ( bagged) and the C1415 (bagless) are the biggest sellers. Good luck, hope this helps you out

You nailed it Alphacleaning. My company started out as a janitorial company years ago, and our first (and last) vacuum cleaner was a Sanitaire. They are tanks! They take a beating and keep on going. Just change the belts from time to time and they never stop.

No, I am not a Sanitaire salesman...lol! I just know where to go to get the most bang for my buck!

I do think that Dysons look cooler and work a little better, but when your on a job, you could care less about how a vacuum cleaner looks, and considering the Dysons are not as durable as a commercial grade vacuum cleaner like the Sanitaire, your money is better spent on one (I only spent about $130 or so on the Sanitaire I bought, all those years ago..... and it STILL works like the day I bought it... though it IS a little beat up).
