I'm having very high-quality with Fantastic with Oxy Power on all kinds of pet stains on carpeting, have even used it to clean the "dog's" couch, but I don't have any white rugs, so can't comment on that. I used pretreat, followed by carpet steamer/cleaning machine.

People should try to clean after their pets stains as soon as possible. Then when the carpet cleaner comes the stains will come out easily instead of having the stains that have been embedded into the carpet

I use a product called Odor-Z-Way to remove urine, vomit, and blood stains out of carpet. We'll usually clean the carpet and if a stain is present, I take the powder product (non scented) and sprinkle it onto the stain. I then rub the powder in and once the carpet dries we vacuum up the area. It's like magic! The stain is always completely gone. One lady told us this urine stain had been in her carpet for about 15 years. Amazingly, we had no problems pulling the stain out with this Odor-Z-Way product. Check it out it might be worth your time.

Pros Choice Urine Stain Remover (Hydrogen peroxide base) does a great job on set urine stains it does not help with the odor. I tell my clients when I do a walk through inspection that some time urine stains come out and some times they don't. I also tell them that the carpet warranty does not cover urine stains.

Pro's Choice is a good line. You can saturate the area with OSR and let is sink through the backing and into the pad, probably 10-15 minutes. Make sure you have really hot water first, then add OSR and watch it mix. Use a water claw to extract if you have it. That is 2nd best, if the customer doesn't want to pay to have the carpet pulled back, and pad removed, floor sealed, backing treated, then carpet cleaned.

Default old urine stains

When i do a walk through I tell people that urine stains may come out or they may not. I tell them that if the urine has damaged the dye site they will have to get Pros Choice Urine stain remover from me as a last resort. I also tell them that carpet warranties do not cover urine stains and that any chemical that they have tried in the past may also contribute to setting the stain. Pros choice urine stain remover makes the urine clear so that you no longer see it. They own the Urine stain not you. If you fail to tell them it may not come out before you start, you have now become the happy owner of an old urine stain.

Some people are really lazy and they won't clean or at least try to clean pet stains. When our technicians come it will be too late and it turned horrible for them.

I think they get fed up with it after years of dealing with it and expect someone to just come in and permenantely deal with it.

I agree! The chemical composition of urine will discolor the carpet. Not to mention, the 25 different cleaners they used to clean the stain. Sometimes the stains are super yellow and very difficult to remove...but it can be done! Typically charge extra for this.

There is one product that me and my mother swear by. Its called Supreme Cleaner. Its a non toxic concentrate that you mix with water. my cat had a urine problem on my white carpet, most other products that i used cleaned it but the stain kept coming back. But once i started using the Supreme, there wasn't any traces left of the stain.and the best part about the cleaner is that is great is because its all purpose and works great in the bathroom for mold, hard water etc. here is the link. i hope this helps you. www.supremecleaner.com

Wow, I have never heard of most of these products, but we use Genie Wonder Cleaner for everything. We bought it from a man going door to door. He removed spray paint from a nearby truck, rust and oil off of the pavement and then blood off of my blanket that had been there for 7+ years. We have used it on everything, red wine off of my wedding dress, all carpet spots. And it is bio degradable and no phosphates. Found a website geniewondercleaner.com HOpe this helps.

The steps to cleaning a urine spot are..
1. First qualifying the spot. Use a Moisture probe or a black light to indicate the exact location of the urine spot.
2. Treat the area with a acidic cleaner fairly heavily. These are usually your rinse cleaners. I like Brown Out by lawton brothers. You do this to neutralize the heavily alkaline pet spot. A pet spot becomes more and more alkaline over time. In most cases when you are pre vacuuming in a area you can feel your vacuum get harder to push over the urine area. You have to break that sticky stuff down first with a acid rince.
3. Water Claw the pet spot.
4. Spray the spot heavily with a Enzyme of your choice. Wait 10 minutes go do something else.
5. Come back. Water claw the spot again.
6. Clean over the area. Make lots of dry strokes with your wand. You want the area as dry as possible when you leave to prevent wicking.
7. Apply urine stain remover to the yellowing of the spot.
8. Apply a few sprays of a deodorizer the area.
9. Put a air mover on the spot.

The foundation could have urine in it as well. To completly rid the urine requires sealing the foundation with a alcohol based sealer, replacing that section of padding, and cleaning both sides of the carpet. Who really does that though? Manufactured homes could be a nightmare with their plywood floors.

It's important to note that sometimes the carpet has to be lifted to treat tough pet stains. A lot of times the urine seaps to the padding, or even the structure below the padding.

My two favorites are baking soda and hydrogen peroxide separately. The baking soda definitely helps to remove odors! You have to remember that most OXY cleaners are usually some derivative of peroxide. I just make sure to test a very small area first, to make sure that I don't make matters worse.
