Hello. At the debut WCR Live Chat, featuring Coach Kev, we went through the topic of bidding jobs over the phone. I said I preferred to bid each one separately (something I actually enjoy doing since it gets me out of the office, and I get to see folks' awesome stuff), but Chris and Coach Kev tried to convert me into a cubicle, giving me a link to this pricing system:
Pricing | Toronto's Window & Eaves Cleaning Professionals
I can see the advantages to such a system, however, it seems to be mainly a guideline.' I do do "ballpark pricing" over the phone sometimes, if requested, having serviced over 5,000 homes and having a pretty good idea just from what area of town they are in, and how many bedrooms the place has, about how much the job will cost.
But, since my bidding system is based on how many panes of glass you have, and how high off the ground they are, and most homeowners are terrible at estimating height on their own, I think I'll continue to go to their properties in person to "see folks' awesome stuff."
It is a pretty sound pricing system though, Coach, and I certainly see where it has it's place.
