Default Benefits of a Clean Office

When we think about an office, we think about desks, computers and lots of papers. Depending on the type of business, we can think about other types of equipment also, but, no matter what your business is about, the truth is that there are many documents that cannot be kept just electronically; we need a printed copy for our files. The paper-less culture is still at large, and we still need to handle lots of papers around the office.

It is very common to see office desks swamped with to do lists, papers to file and much other stuff. Of course, some employees are better than others at handling their workload, however, when there is too much to do, even the tidy ones can find it difficult to deal with everything in a neat way.

The benefits of a clean working space are endless. There is no question about it, when clients, visitors and even employees, come into a dirty office, it immediately gives a sense of unprofessionalism. On the contrary, a clean office will clearly say expertise, and will even improve productivity.

We all have had the experience of having to spend time looking for a missing file or vital piece of information that we remember writing down somewhere. That was valuable time that could have been used for something more productive. Tidy employees work more efficiently as they do not have to get organized every day prior to starting their work. They also are much happier while working, since they know exactly where everything is and what they have to do.

Messy offices are less hygienic than clean ones. It is easier to spot a possible hazard when the office is uncluttered than when it is completely disorganized. A clean office will diminish greatly the risk of allergies, flu and other diseases, because the space is free from dust and contamination. This is why professional office cleaning is so important to make your working place enjoyable and efficient.

It has been confirmed that an untidy desk creates a lot of unnecessary stress that adds up to the pressure of the normal heavy workloads, creating the possibility of a potential breakdown.

It takes a lot of work to train employees to be tidy, but with the help of a professional cleaning service, they will soon understand all the benefits that come along with being clean and organized.

Time and resources are maximized when people work under organized, clean and less stressful conditions, so, devote the necessary time to ensure your office is a clean environment, and get ready to work in the right way!

Yes office cleaning is most important and I agreed all above points. If office cleaning is done properly I think you and your staff will be healthy each week. You will notice the difference in having a clean office each week compared to having a messy office each week. Overall, it is healthy for everyone who works or visits to have a clean office. You will have less problems such as allergies due to most of the dust being gone out of your office.

this is also why it's important that when having the office cleaned, you use a green office cleaning company like mine as the products used are far safer and heathier for the employees. thank fully green products have come down considerably in price so it's not just as expensive, sometimes even cheaper to use a green cleaning company as they can be better run due to the unique methods of cleaning.

Desks, computers and paperwork are typically what come to mind when the idea of office is brought about. Depending on the nature of the business, several other items of equipment can be thought of as well. No matter how we put it, a lot of files and important documents still cannot be kept on a computer. An ideal paper-less environment is still at large and keeping papers can still be a real chore.

It is typical to find many offices to be untidy with desks piled high with jobs to do, paperwork to file and lots of other things. However, some workers will naturally be tidier than others but with a heavy workload they will still often find it a challenge to keep their workspace neat and tidy.
There are plenty of benefits of having a clean office space. Clients and visitors coming to your office building from time to time will certainly create an impression of “un-professionalism” to see untidy working areas. A tidy office definitely builds better impressions than a messy one.

Furthermore, studies reveal that when everything is in its place, this helps improve productivity. Everyone had experienced spending valuable time looking for a missing file or some important piece of information we know we wrote down on that scrap of paper somewhere. That amount of lost time could have been better spent doing something else instead.

These and more are the reasons why office cleanliness is important. It is not just for visitors but for the people who work there as well. You will always be able to work more efficiently in a tidy office because you won’t have to struggle to get everything organised before you can even start work for the day.

Yeah, yeah. Typical scenario is a cleaner going into an office of desks piled high with papers and being told not to move anything and only dust lightly or wipe fingerprints if any surface is visible.

Any cleaners have any success in persuading clients to set a "clear desk day" so they can clean desktops once or twice a year? I've often thought about that, especially at places that use polish to get fingerprints on any clear spots on wooden desks. That has to be hell on the overall finish if you can't ever clean or polish the whole top.

(I've been trying Liquid Gold wood wash and that new Pledge multisurface cleaner for daily spot-cleaning, and they seem fine. But I'll never know for sure if I never see any of the desks cleared off.)

Hygiene too is a valid consideration. Messy offices are definitely less hygienic than tidy ones. Fact is that it is easier to see potential hazards if it is not buried under clutter. Because of these instances, professional office cleaning service can demand premiums just to make your office a pleasant and even enjoyable place to work in.
Habitual practice of untidiness of employees may take a while to improve, but with a cleaning company taking the lead and making sure the workspaces look as good as possible they will soon enjoy and benefit the new atmosphere. If your desk is untidy and you don't know where anything is, that can be a great source of stress, and if your workload is already quite heavy you don't need any more pressure to add to what you already have.
To sum up, the benefits of a clean working place are priceless. Time and resources are well used just because people work in less stressful conditions.

once a quarter seems a little too low. couldn't imagine not cleaning a desk at most for 4 weeks as there'd be so much dirt build up in that time. I guess it might be different in Seattle, but my office cleaning company in Guildford i'd never consider suggesting that low.

that's true. just got to be firm and make sure you react correctly. you'll always come across customers who don't want to pay and it's such a shame as they often know they wont be paying before they take your services

I couldn't agree more with those ideas. In my office, if it looks a little untidy, Im not as focused even though sometimes you cant help a little mess. But if its grotty, that you can help.

OK, ok. This is a thread for cleaners. I don't think we need to be convinced that a clean office is a happy office. Talk about how to clean offices or find yourself an office manager forum.

Mebe that was too harsh. This thread's good if you need ideas for how to persuade "grotty" office dwellers that they need a cleaner.

Actually, I have that problem now. I've been working for a sawmill and technically out of the cleaning biz for about three months now. The company makes homebuilding products, so they've been cutting way back and haven't had a professional cleaning service in a long time.

As an ex-cleaner, I volunteered to do quick and dirty cleaning of the common areas twice a week: Six bathrooms on Wednesdays and floors in the office, breakroom and bathrooms split up over alternate Thursdays. Bare bones sanitation in a total of two to three hours a week. They pay me about $45 in overtime to do it, but all the workers have suffered layoffs or pay cuts in the past year, so there's no way I'll try to upsell at this point.

I imagine lots of cleaners are in the same situation: Offering cheap, bare bones service to keep the place clean and hang onto accounts for clients that don't want to pay for cleaning right now and are strongly contemplating cutting it out altogether.

Is that the right approach? Once a week cleanings aren't enough for any place that has employees or deals with the public, but that's what a lot of clients have gone down to. I don't know how to really persuade anyone that keeping regular cleanings is as important as maintaining their fundamental business operations.

Its a fine line between keeping a client and keeping one in name only because all they want to pay you is infrequent quick wiping down that really doesn't maintain sanitation.

At what point should a cleaner argue that a client needs more than what they want to pay for? In these tough times, I'd have a hard time doing more than saying "yes sir" when a client wants to cut back on your services.
