Does anyone else find it funny and ironic that the Google ads above are mostly for 'miracle roof cleaners'?
I'm starting to feel the overwhelming urge to try them all!

The Google ads are text based and designed to not be in the way. Hopefully they don't bother you guys too much. They just help pay for the server and other costs associated with running the site.

They are also contextual so they should be at least somewhat relevant.

They don't bother me at all. Better than having a vendor/sponsor supporting the board and limiting what can be said about other products/suppliers. There's a couple boards that way, and it sucks.

You will find that this will NEVER happen on any of my sites. We do have some private sponsors on contractortalk.com and they are told up front that we will not censor ANY conversation about their product. All that they are allowed to do is display their banner and let the product/service talk for it's self.

I don't believe in censorship like that. Not here.

Sounds good to me! I can understand why the owner of a board, if he sells chems/equipment, wouldn't want other vendors represented, but that does tend to put a damper on open communication. You get tired of saying "Hey, email me and I'll fill you in on xyz...".

I wasn't so much talking about discussions of sponsor's products, but mention of products sold by other, non-sponsor vendors. If I tell someone I get my supplies from ABC Supplies, and the owner of XYZ supplies is a sponsor, I don't like being told I can't mention ABC if I want to.

We have no connections here to anyone but my other site contractortalk.com and equipmenttalk.com. Just a small little web company with more sites to come.

A simple question for those that seem to think that kind of stuff is fun. Would you want it on your PW business site for the world to see?
