Default deisel fuel on roof

I don't know about jet fuel but, I once had a guy who had a diesel burning furnace, two of them in fact. When I was done cleaning the roof there were still black stains where the exhaust/chimney (whateveveryacallit) came out. I never found a resolution. Anyone?

Possibly sodium hydroxide, but if it's asphalt shingle you wouldn't want to go too strong with it.

be careful when using sodium hydroxide on a roof ,if is too stron you will break down the shingle by pulling the oils from the shingle but yes don is as usual correct, use sparingly

If you're going to use sodium hydroxide you really need to make sure that you don't make it too strong.

Guilty. It's 2 or 3 times as labor intensive as chlorine. Not to mention the excessive amount of pressure you must use to get a clean rinse.
