Folks, quick rule that I have lived by on my other forum and it has served me well. I think it will work here as well.
Specific issues with specific people should be handled via PM and not posted for the world to see.
Believe me when I say this works. Please keep it in mind. No good is ever done by calling someone out in public when it can be done privately.
Thanks.

Very well put Nathan, and I would like to mention that the way you act on this board is also a reflection on how you will act towards your customers in their eyes. Remember that your future customers have internet access and may be watching you right now, and believe me you will get customers from sites. Oh yeah if you don't think they wont know who you are, check all of your company signatures in your signature lines with names and phone numbers. Lets keep it professional and educational for everyone. Nathan put alot into this site to help everyone out here including you, lets return the favor and show your support by respecting him also for his hard work.

Ditto that. Can't we all just at least TRY to get along? There's no reason to come here (or anywhere else) and try to stir the pot up. There's just no point to it, other than trying to harass someone with whom you have a disagreements. How is that helpful to anyone, other than to discredit the GOOD things a person has to say? If I act like a jerk 10% of the time, and am friendly and helpful 90% of the time, the people that would benefit from that 90% will tend to avoid me because of the 10%.

True, but when you do that, you can't post a link to it elsewhere and tell others how you've "slapped someone down"

That is the key. There is more than one way to do things and you have to be willing to agree to disagree sometimes. Unless something is dangerous which of course needs to be corrected.

Agreed!
Cutting in a room 50 different ways isn't going to do anything but slow someone down, etc.
It is not going to harm anything.
The "debate" I was referring to is the recommendation of small, restrictive hose on some of the pumps used by contractors.
This is bad for someones pump, as it is unnecessarily restrictive, and slows down a contractor considerably.
Just as driving from Atlanta to Detroit in second gear is not good for a transmission, and will wear it out prematurely, long lengths of small, restrictive hose are not good for a pump.
They cause the pump to work harder then it should, and burns it up faster.
Burning up someone's pump prematurely, to me, falls under your "dangerous" description.
Now, I am NOT saying that anyone intentionally tries to damage someones pump by recommending small hose!
All of us, including me, can sometimes be "Parrots" and simply repeat what we have heard, or been told.
But since we are all "Parrots' from time to time, perhaps we should all re examine that which we have been repeating, and make sure it is a recommendation that will cause no harm to someones equipment, or make a contractor uncompetitive with others using the correct size hose.
Someone on a race track will find himself un competitive with a 300 CFM carburetor running against others with 650 CFM.
Or using stock valve springs with a radical profile, high lift cam.
The motor may "run", for awhile, but it will not be competitive, and it will soon break, because the stock valve springs can not handle the radical camshafts demands.

Once again you seemed to be going back to a problem you had on another site. Go back there and battle it out. Let's start over here.
Thanks.

The party you seem to have the most problem with regarding this issue doesn't even recommend 3/8, he does and has recommended 1/2"...
We ALL get it..the posts are all over the place now for ALL to see...repeating the same stuff over and over isn't going to do anything but irritate a lot of folks.
So now, if a person chooses 3/8" hose, they have been informed. Isn't that all you can really do?

Yes, I have made my point.
The info is there for all to see, and it is up to THEM what they shall use.
I might also add 3/8 hose does NOT hurt you as bad with a lower GPM Shurflo as it does with a larger 3.6 GPM pump.
This is because the more GPM you try and move through a hose, the higher the pressure drop, all things being equal.
Personally, I prefer the larger 45 PSI, 3.6 GPM Shurflo, and to get them to work properly they need the larger hose, or you will lose so much pressure they wont spray very well.
But to tell you the truth, I am sick of this hose "debate" too.
I made my point, and it is time to move on.
Many who have commented here are right.
We all have so much in common, so many "war stories" to share, etc, that it is silly to not at least try and get along.

Hello Wayne!
I remember you from the Delco board, welcome!
It has been kinda slow this summer, at least here in Brandon.
Your web site looks great!
We saw you pulling your trailer going down Fowler Ave a month or so ago, beeped, but you did not see us.
You were heading westbound, and we were going east, back to the Interstate, and back home to Brandon.
Your rig caught my Son's attention.
He said "Dad, that's a nice set up, look"!
We were coming back from a big job up in Avila.
The customer was a real hard one to please, actually got out Binoculars, and examined every edge of the tiles!!!
Yikes!
It was a HUGE home, and very steep, and white barrel tile too.
We "thought" we were done, and rolled up our tarps, stupid us.
The guy actually came out with Binoculars.
We had to completely re tarp, and re shoot some of the edges from the ground.
It did pay good though, and he was happy when we left, but we were beat.

Us guys here in Brandon all get along, and we all buy our "juice" from the same place.
We win a few, and loose a few, and we sometimes exchange "war stories" about the "shopper from hell", etc.
Had a older gentleman in Sun City Center one time ask me to come down and give him a quote.
As I was walking around his house, he kept demanding I give him a price.
He also reminded me that he was a senior on a fixed income!
He kept keeping me from doing my job, and kept asking for "the price".
Finally Wayne, I told him 300, 400 or 500 dollars ?
He got quite upset, and asked me to make up my mind!
I told him this "300 to clean the roof, 400 IF you watch, and 500 IF you watch, and tell me what to do!
Now, this old guy was a big dude, tall as Don Phelps, and one could see he was a bad you know what, in his day.
He started getting all red in the face, when all of a sudden, a little old lady popped out of the house, and yelled "Henry Schroeder, you get your you know what in this house, right now"!
I swear Wayne, the guy was about 6'7 and easily 275 lbs, and he moved with 4.4 speed!
The nice, little old lady calmly said, "Honey, just go ahead and do our roof, and what it costs, It costs, and we will pay you.
She then asked if her husband told us that they were on a " Seniors on a fixed income" ?
I said "yes"
She said they were on a "fixed income" of 15 grand a month from a trust, in addition to their pensions, etc, etc!
While on the roof, I heard old Henry "getting it" from his wife, who stood about 5'1 in her tip toes, LOL
Now Wayne, this guy was once a "man's man", in his day, but I have found that as we get older, the women become more "dominant".
I don't know about you, but I ain't looking forward to being 70, LOL
My friend who owns a pressure washing company here in Brandon took out an ad in the Flyer.
His wife, "Shopped" all the guys advertising roofs in there.
She "claimed" to have a 1500 sq ft roof with a 2 car garage, so that's about 2100 sq ft, at least a 250 dollar roof ?
Maybe even more when everyone's busy ?
She got 3 prices of 99 dollars for the roof, and from 60 to 100 dollars for the whole house, minus roof!
Yikes!
In our many years in business, this is the slowest summer, so far, we can remember.
Plenty of letters going out, but the roofs are still dirty!
I have even cruised our local subdivisions to see if an outside Brandon company is doing the work here, and the roofs are still dirty!
I think it's a combination of the high Gas prices Wayne, and the ARM Mortgages!
Suddenly all the people on Arm's are paying way more each month.
That, and the gas prices are taking peoples extra money/
My brother Jamie air conditioning brandon florida is an A/C Contractor, and he is doing great!
Talk about making money, man A/C is a get rich proposition.
We are holding our head above water, but it is slow.
How about for you Wayne, is it slow up in Tampa too ?
