Uh Oh!! Getting to be as many Kentuckians on here as Floridians. Before anyone comments on us "hillbillies", I'll have ya'll know we prefer to be addressed as Appalachian Americans. (politically correct)

Going to be in Owensboro next week and will be stocking up on Burgoo.

Hey, I could do $99.00 housewashes and throw the roof in for free...and maybe the driveway and pool enclosure.

What about using one of those 22gpm surflo's (or two of them) connected to an INCH and 5/8 hose!!! Just stand back about 20' and hose the WHOLE house down, from the peak of the roof to the foundation...I could wash the roof and house in about 10 minutes, figure another 10 minutes for rinsing...I could do 3 an hour.

I'm gonna start going door to door with my super-rig and do 15-20 of these a day...at $99.00, that's a LOT of cash!!!

Default Best Roof Cleaning Methods

The best way is the way that is recommended by ARMA, GAF, and Owens Corning; low pressure chemical application. Suggested solution is a mix of bleach, tsp, and water.

Best way to get it up there on a steep (non-walkable) roof is to use a Delavan 12V pump through 1/2 chemical hose. With the right nozzle, you can spray quite a distance, so it's possible to shoot the whole roof from a ladder at the roof edge. Delavan also sells gas powered roller pumps. One of these in conjunction with 5/8 or 3/4" hose can almost shoot the moon.

Call Bob at pressuretek, he makes and sells roof cleaning rigs using the Delavan pumps.

Hey Don,

The site gets quite a few visitors a day, lot of "guests" reading posts but only a few sign up. There are a few more in the private section since you signed up.

How's business for you Don? When you ever going to make a northern RT and tell us how to really clean roofs?

Good luck this season my friend, hope '08 is good to you.

After seeing some of the pics from the last one, I might be gettin' too old to keep up with you guys at a r/t.

With regard to roof cleaning, there seems to be two different idealogies these days......"You have to see it to believe it" or "You have to believe it to see it."

Come on down to Tampa, Florida, the non pressure roof cleaning capitol of the world.
Yep, Tampa, where Grouper is so hard to get, they try and feed you Tilapia instead, but dont tell you.
But the roof cleaners in Tampa can go most anywhere and get a Cuban Sandwich or a Deviled Crab.
We just dont eat while cleaning a roof.
We don't want to wind up in Tampa General Hospital.
