Well, I used to live in the gym, up until about 5 years ago.
I did weight train, but unlike tall and lanky people who must train heavy to gain size, I was kinda blessed, and cursed with size and musculature Io begin with.
There are 3 body types Barry.
These are Ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph.
Very few people are entirely just one type
Here is one example, my younger brother

He is a pure Mesomorph, and was born with muscle from head to toe.
I was not so fortunate.
I am a mesomorph/endomorph.
Pure Mesomorphs are natures chosen few.
Endomorphs must watch their weight
Ectomorphs are the skinny people.
Because of my body type, I already had size, and so in the Gym I did a lot of reps with lighter weight, but one super heavy set per exercise to keep my strength.
The big hose we use is not the problem some think it to be.
We do not turn our pumps on until all hose is on the roof.
The 10 foot wand is normally used only on the ground, and in limited applications.
We use a lightweight gun, and it also has a screw on wand with angled nozzle holder for tile roofs.
It is a commercially available wand and gun set up, and costs less then 50 bucks.
