I am new to this site. I've been cleaning for years, but am looking to be more efficient and save time for leisure activities like writing and playing with the kids. I also am looking for green ideas so that I can do as little harm to the environment as well as safer options for my family. And last, I need cost effective ideas for tools of the trade.

Since I've got my daughter I completely changed my cleaning style stopped to use chemicals and started to clean with home made cleaning products. The main supplies used in green cleaning are:

Baking soda
Washing soda
White distilled vinegar
A good liquid soap or detergent
Tea tree oil
Steam

I've read a post from a mother who is presenting to her children windows cleaning as a game. As a result they were quarrelling who of them to clean the windows. It looked like a cool idea. Do you have more concrete questions?
