Does using a steam machine make the job easier or faster?
Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience using a commercial steam/vac machine in very filthy residential unit. I am considering buying the 'Desiderio Plus' steam and vacuum machine to hopefully make my job easier and faster, but I don't know if it will actually accomplish that.
I typically clean low income apartments and houses after people move out and these places are absolutely filthy. I'm usually dealing with hardened foods and liquids all over the inside of the refrigerator, layers of hard black burnt grease inside the oven/on the stove, grease coating nearly every surface of the kitchen, thick dirty soap scum coating the whole bathtub and shower walls, grime coated vinyl floors, ceiling fans and mini blinds coated in so much dust that it becomes mud here in the humid south, etc. It typically takes me about 4-6 hours to clean these places by myself.
My current trick for making the job easier is to use oven cleaner on practically everything in the kitchen and sometimes the tub too, if the soap scum is really bad. But that gets expensive and it's not too fun dealing with those harsh chemicals, I have to wear a respirator and gloves.
So does a steam/vac cleaning machine really make that much of a difference? Could it potentially cut my cleaning time and effort in half? Is it worth the $1700 price tag?
