Water Damage Restoration

Water damage restoration is among the most complicated treatments that most houses ultimately experience. Homes that were mostly constructed with timber are specifically prone to major water damage since soaked wood and sheetrock produce ideal conditions for mold growth.
The most important thing is the restoration company you hired should be licensed and all the people who are involve in the fire damage restoration process must be insured. It is not just of the safety purpose but also because according to law the water damage restoration company must be licensed.
The inspection of the damage begins with the repairing process. A team of professionals evaluate the total damage, the situation and which parts of the construction have been most affected by the water.

I agree. Hurricanes, floods, tsunamis cause irreparable damage to mankind. Water damage restoration is one of the most important tasks that must be done after the devastation to dry and dehumidify the property and avoid mold.

When it comes to choosing qualified water damage restoration company, there are four basic tenets to look for. They are:

The ideal company should be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They will answer their own phones and be able to have a technician out to your home or business within an hour or so.

The ideal company should have a complete staff of trained professionals, proficient on all latest water damage restoration equipment and procedures. They should be able to do the work and communicate effectively with your insurance providers or claim adjuster to insure prompt, courteous service and timely completion of the work required.

The ideal company should offer a complete range of services designed to return your home to its pre-loss condition. This will include water extraction and drying, carpet cleaning and mold remediation, as well as any structural repairs or restoration that may be required.

Make sure the company you choose has been certified by an industry leader, such as the Institute for Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification (IICRC) or the Restoration Industry Association (RIA).

I agree with all the above about it takes special equipment and trained professionals to make sure they get everything dried out correctly. If it is not done correctly you could end up with a bigger problem - Mold Clean Up!

Make sure you do not flip it on till all the water dries. Water alone typically does not destroy natural philosophy, it's simply that water shorts out the chips as a result of it permits electricity to flow down methods it is not meant to. this can be extremely importat. do not flip it on till it dries.

I don't get the point of the post but I guess the thread itself is informative. From a business standpoint, water damage restoration is not part of the "usual" cleaning routines therefore you have to charge extra. It should depend on the severity of the case and how many hours and hard labor is needed to tackle the problem. That said, I did some free work for some of my friends of friends that got hit by some storm late last year which in turn became a marketing campaign to some extent. oh well, water damage isn't necessarily that big of a deal but it does make a room look ugly.
