Carpet cleaning is not an easy task always, and using wrong techniques may potentially ruin the expensive carpets permanently. Just like making mistakes while cleaning the carpets, many homeowners make severe blunders while choosing carpet cleaners Sydney.

However, by following a few tips and if you avoid some of the common mistakes mentioned below then you can ensure that your carpets last for longer.

  • Not cleaning up spills
  • Not taking proper care of your carpet
  • Carpet cleaning too frequently
  • Not hiring a Sydney carpet cleaning company
  • Not testing the new products

Carpet cleaning mistakes to be avoided apart from the ones listed above:

> Do not scrub excessively. This would spoil the carpet very soon

> Using deodorizing powders may smell great, but use them only when your carpet smells bad. Adding this on a regular cleaning regime will bring down the carpet's quality

> Over usage of chemicals should be avoided

> Not using the right cleaning equipment will also cause damage to the carpet

> Cleaning your carpet once a week does not mean you are keeping it clean, you are over-doing it. If there is some dirt, just remove that and finish it off. If you start cleaning the whole carpet for that small stain, the carpet will be worn out soon

from what I know, the key things to avoid are:
- excessive scrubbing to spoil the material or carpet fabric
- not acting quickly on spills
- and not over using chemicals..

You have provided some great tips here. Like you have mentioned, it is very important to hire some professional cleaning service once in a while to clean the carpets because there's always a limit in which we can clean the carpets and eliminate the bacteria and dust particles inside them. When we clean, the carpets may look clean, but the bacteria and dust particles will be definitely there in it.

Thanks to you for appreciate my theory. It is true that our company has provided the water extraction method for cleaning the carpet easily. It has the ability to flush out larger amounts of soil and contaminants of the carpet. This method will clean, rise and extract dirt and unhealthy contaminants that lies deep within your carpet.

A little known fact

A little known fact is that dirt going into the carpet acts like a piece of glass as it has sharp edges and cuts the pile, thus causing your carpets to look thread bare. By regular deep cleaning you get these deep down particles and remove them (that a normal vacum does not) thus giving your carpets a longer life.

Avoiding mistakes thru knowledge!!

Hi everyone.

This is my very first post so please be gentle! I recently started my own carpet & Upholstery cleaning business and is going well. I have done a couple of courses so far( i did have previous experience in this field of work) and i am always looking for tips from more experienced professionals. I have been cleaning man made fibre rugs as i would a man made fibre carpet with great results. Recently i have had more natural fibre carpets to clean(wool) I using a woolsafe pre-spray and detergent and keep the temp below 40 degrees and make sure plenty of ventulation. So far so good. Today i was asked to clean a large 100% wool rug. Lovely and thick with uneven layers it was 6pm and was lightly raining outside. I explained after cleaning it would smell like a wet dog and as it was early evening and raining outside it would be best to postpone she reluctunly agreed.

Now my questions to you glorious people are as follows:

1: being 100% wool is the best method to clean using pre-spray extraction outside for plenty of ventillation??

2: was i correct in postponing the rug?(customer hadnt informed me it was wool but i didnt ask either during the booking)

3: am i making any mistakes in my cleaning method??

your help be much appreciated

Thank you

The spill goes deep down into the carpet if not cleaned immediately. The steam cleaning method used by reliable and professional cleaners will help to deeply clean the fibers. But the wet carpet must be dried soon as it gets too wet and risks of mold or mildew. The professional cleaning also works well to re-energize high traffic areas and help to restore the new look of the carpets.
