Detergent attracts dirt. This is why it's important to thoroughly rinse any cleaner. This is another reason to get hot water extraction than the dry method of carpet cleaner. The bottom line is, you need to clean when you clean the carpet.

Vacuum on a regular basis to prevent everyday dirt from setting into your carpet. Consider using area rugs in high traffic areas. That will protect your carpet from unnecessary staining and wear. If you have dogs who spend a lot of time outside, keep dogie towels near the doors you let them in and out by. Use them to wipe their paws to prevent tacked in dirt and stains. Apply protectant to your carpet to help prevent stains from forming. If you do spill, blot, blot, blot! Get up as much of the liquid in the carpet as possible to prevent it from sinking into the carpet pad.Don’t pour water on to stains in order to “lighten them.” Although this can loosen the stain, it will subsequently sink deeper into the carpet and the pad, making it worse in the long run.

Some of these tips are very helpful but may I add don't try to clean your own carpet with a store bought or rented machine. These just don't have enough vacuum to properly extract your cleaning solution back out nor the water which will cause rapid resoling and extended dry times that may damage the carpet itself. We at carpet cleaning Tampa take great care in doing all steps properly to ensure a very thorough job with no residue and fast dry times.

I couldn't agree more and I might add to stay away from dry cleaning process for the same reason as there is no rinsing in this process and we have found that most carpets that have been dry cleaned are extremely soiled from the residue left from the cleaning company. Our company mission viejo carpet cleaning use hot water truck mounted steam cleaning equipment to thoroughly deep clean and rinse your carpets of residue and then speed drys them for the most thorough carpet cleaning in the industry.

In order to get carpets completely cleaned, spot cleaning won't cut it. One method to get all the stains out is to steam clean your carpets by professionals.
