Cleaning synthetic/shaggy rug
I got a rug from a friend, but it needs a little maintenance.
I noticed there are some parts of the rug that are a little tough or stiff. I was thinking if using a cleaning solution to try to soften the rough spots. I am looking to buy a spot cleaner soon as well and was curious if that might be ok to use (carefully of course.)
It's a bit of an odd rug. The link below goes to the same one I have.
I am unable to post a link or images, but if you search " dimension DI-96 " it should come up. (Black rug with white/silver wavy stripes)
Any input would be appreciated!
Consult the professionals!
Getting in touch with a professional carpet and rug cleaning company is a wise idea for they know what cleaning methods can work for a certain type of carpet material and what will not.
You can do the following as well:
first is mix two tablespoons of mild liquid detergent with two cups water. Take Lukewarm tap water
secondly, use the Vinegar solution – one cup vinegar to two cups water.
Thirdly you can use the Ammonia solution – two tablespoon of household ammonia mixed with one cup water
NOw take a clean cloth and then rub the spots or stains with these and see the difference. If you still feel the results are not satisfying, then call a professional carpet cleaner near your area.
