Most common problems of the carpets

Carpets are made up of very sensitive and soft fabrics. Therefore, these are more prone to dust and grimes. Most of the bacteria and debris grounded in the deep layers of the carpets. Let us discuss the common problems of the carpets:

Carpet Fluffing Or Shedding:

These problems generally happen when the carpet is not maintained properly. The only solution to this problem is regular vacuum cleaning of the carpets and rugs.

Carpet stains:

This is the most usual problem that of which everyone is frustrated with the carpet cleaning. The common type of carpet stains is wine stains, coffee stains, urine stains, etc.
For this, take some warm water and baking powder, soak the carpet into it and rub it lightly.

  • Sorry, as a Professional cleaner of over 35 years, I have to disagree.

Carpets are made up of very sensitive and soft fabrics. Actually most carpet is made of Nylon, Polyester and Olefin. These are very durable fabrics and will wear for years.

Therefore, these are more prone to dust and grimes. Most of the bacteria and debris grounded in the deep layers of the carpets. This is where most people dont realize that whatever floor covering you have, the dust, grime, bacteria and debris will fall to it. The big difference is that carpet will hold it in place as hard floors it will spread with foot traffic.

Carpet Fluffing Or Shedding. These are definately not professional terms. I watch the top two carpet cleaning message boards and nowhere are the words Fluffing or Shedding associated with carpet.

Carpet stains: there are two terms that people need to know associated with this. Spots and Stains. Spots can be removed. Stains have actually changed the color of the carpet (bleach for example). Some can be removed with specialty spotters and some cannot be removed and are permanent.

wine stains, coffee stains, urine stains, etc. For this, take some warm water and baking powder, soak the carpet into it and rub it lightly. Baking powder? really? Absolutely will not work on these stains. Yes it will take the excess out but not all of it. Coffee in itself is a very complex stain. It depends on how hot the coffee was when it was spilled, whether it was decaf or not, cream or sugar added, etc. All these play into how that particular stain is removed.

Some types of carpet are more susceptible to their dyes fading when exposed to direct sunlight. There are many household substances that can cause this sort of colour fading, even though the full extent of the fading may not be detectable until the carpet is cleaned.
