replacing colors

Have you run into carpets with missing colors? Bleach stains (yellow), OxyClean (white), window cleaners (green), and many other household products that can remove the color from a brown carpet. Can one use FOOD coloring to replace those colors? Hmmmmmm, I have in a pinch, and it worked . We have been replacing colors on nylon carpets for years. Being an artist does help, but what about the polyester carpets? How can anyone replace the color on that fabric? Water Based dyes will not hold to a carpet made of polyester. That is too bad, so we try to tell all our customers NOT to purchase Polyester carpets.
Tell me your thoughts on this and we can share notes.

Fixing missing colors from the carpet can be easy, of course it does depend on how big the stain is. Over the years we have noticed that polyester carpets will not hold water based colors that are used for nylon carpets. How about those YELLOW American mustard stains?

Ok.... I have a good one about color. What color do you use when a Blue color carpet is turned yellow from bleach? LOL... you don't, blue is a primary color, but if the bleach spot is small enough, you could get it to work close enough.
