Sawdust in carpet
Hi was having a dispute with someone and hoping that some of you pros can help me to settle this matter: There was a question raised as to how well a standard decent household vacuum cleaner can remove sawdust from a half-inch household carpet. This individual believes that even after vacuuming the area where the sawdust (quite fine particles) were on the carpet, a portion of the sawdust may remain nestled in the carpet that the vacuum doesn't remove, thus presenting the possibility of sawdust being released in the air in the future. (There is a question of dust allergies, etc.). I was of the opinion, however, that a halfway decent vacuum cleaner (just a regular Bissell but does the job well) should pretty much suck up all of that wood sawdust from the carpet, leaving no concern for anything left behind. I'm not really sure though; can you guys please offer me your knowledge and experience in this area? Very appreciated! If you can, please include your credentials so that the answer will be taken more seriously by this individual. Thanks!!
