Subcontracting carpet cleaning?

Does anyone here subcontract carpet cleaning?

So far I have two employees (family members) and we only focus on residential cleaning. Its working out great.

Now I get tons of requests for carpet cleaning which I refuse. I dont think I want to invest into carpet cleaning equipment (pricey) at this point nor do I have anyone that I can hire for it. So I am thinking, subcontracting it out.

Perhaps, finding a local carpet cleaner where I have their pricing and I put my margin on top of it.

Has anyone done this before? How has it worked out? Did the customer pay you then you pay the sub contractor or did they pay the subcontractor then they issue you a check for the difference? What type of contract do you sign?

Any help on this subject would be very well appreciated.

Carpet Cleaning

This happens all the time and can work out great for you and your subcontractor. Find someone that you feel you can work with and can build some trust in. It's in your best interest to learn how to price carpet cleaning so you know how to quote your customer and will know ahead how much the subcontractor will require? Then you bill the customer directly and pay the sub seperately.
Good luck!

I have a carpet cleaning business in Tampa Fl and I do alot of carpet cleaning for local house cleaners, I give them the basics on pricing and they add a little for themselves. works out great for them.
Just make sure you find a quality carpet cleaner who will not make you look bad in the eyes of YOUR client.
