I guess that will depend on the type of flooring in your home. Is it all carpet or have wood or ceramic flooring? If you have multiple floors, a multi floor vacuum may be the best choice. Then it comes to question on if you prefer and upright or canister, or perhaps a bag-less or bagged vacuum?

Brent Krueger doesn't mention the brand of the 2x2s they sell. I purchased one, that I found on indepthguide.com. When I hold them up to the light I can see quite a bit of dust in there (just enclosed them recently). I'm not sure if it's paper dust, dust from my house or combination of both.

Nowadays, the vacuum bag technology is gaining prominence. It would help to retain more allergens and dust inside the vacuum filter bags. Disposable synthetic cloth vacuum filter bags are extensively used by the best brands. The vacuum filter bag helps in reducing the dust and dirt getting into the cleaning equipment. I have been using Proteam vacuum bags for the last few years. The product is genuine and cheap.
