Whatever type of floor it is, here is what I do. I use an ordinary Swiffer mop, but I NEVER use their wet floor pads. Expensive, dont clean well, and leave the floor sticky. YUCK! I put white washc, loths on the mop, ordinary washcloths and they fit fine over the mop head. I mop a smallish area, and when the cloth is white, it is clean. Depending on the type of floor, I use different fluids. Tile, I use a mix of Meyer's Clean Day and an H2O2 cleaning product made by Lysol. Hardwood, I use Either Pledge's wood floor stuff or Methods. Laminates - I use Method, because it cleans well and wont mar laminate floors delicate finish. Laminate floors can be a royal PIA, because if they are not good quality, they scratch easily and any spills will mar the finish quickly. I forget to say something very important: BEFORE mopping, I always vacuum carefully and thoroughly.

The original question was wanting to know more about good ways to clean floors.

Okay. First sweep or preferably vacuum. As you do that notice where you see spills, or stains. I usually have a pocket knife in my arpron and on tile floors (common in Florida-) I gently scrap up obvious spills. I only use vacuums with LED headlights because they SHOW me this sort of thing. Makes my work a lot easier.

Next, I use my bucket and dampen as many white washcloths as I think it will take to clean that area. I use an ordinary Swiffer Mop but NEVER their icky sticky wet floor pads! The washcloths hook right onto their mop and away I go. I mop a smallish area and when the cloth is still white, it is clean. Because I have done this for years I am super efficient and it does not take any more time than traditional mopping would. I cannot stand spone or string mops! All you are doing is spreading dirty water around.

My customers seem to love my method because they know their floors are truly clean plus it shows them how much I CARE about what I do.
