The first thing you want to do is try to remove as much of the chewing gum as possible with a dull instrument such as a professional carpet cleaning bone scraper or just a dull spoon. Do not use a sharp instrument like a knife as this could easily damage the carpeting. Next you wan to freeze the gum so that it can easily be broken off. If you have access to a can of chewing gum remover this is perfect. It will quickly freeze the gum. If you do not have access to this you can simply use an ice cube. Get the gum as frozen as possible and then strike it with a hard instrument. It should break into pieces that can easily be removed. Pick up all the pieces being careful not to forget any. Finally you will clean the spot to get rid of any remaining chewing gum residue. Get a good citrus spotter and apply it to a spotting cloth. Now dab the spot with the cloth gently to remove the residue. Be careful not to rub the spot aggressively which could damage the carpet fiber.
one of the most common ways is by using ice cube. You may ask how one does it with ice cube alone. Take a few ice cubes and put it on the gum to harden it. Once the gum is hardened, you can use a spoon or metal ruler to scrap off the gum as much as possible.

Well, not use a distinct device like a blade as this could quickly harm the carpet. Next you want to lock up the gum so that it can quickly be damaged off. If you have entry to bubble gum cleaner this is perfect.
Use the "bag of ice" method.Keep the ice over the gum for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rub the ice around the border of most of the gum and pealed it off slowly, sort of rubbing the ice underneath little by little.Gum will be easily pealed off. Then dry that area with clean cloth.
You must apply the dry-cleaning solvent to remove remaining traces or use a commercial chewing gum remover.

In my opinion you should use ice to congeal the gum, and then break it with a dull thing, such as a spoon. Vacuum before the bit becomes softer, and stain the carpet with a white towel.
Removing the gum over the carpet apply water with detergent solution. If stain remains, heat the detergent solution slightly with rinse with water until dry.

Thanks for sharing such an informative post with us. My carpet too experienced gum stain two years back and I resolved that problem easily by freezing the gum and then scraping it off the carpet.
