I agree that of post construction cleaning is very hard and laborious work, and I agree 100% with your pricing of 50 -60 per sq ft. and also pricing for these places:

Clean Project site, yard, and grounds, in areas disturbed by construction activities, including landscape development areas, of rubbish, waste material, litter, and other foreign substances.

Question.. I live in Oklahoma and am also a "newbie" to the post construction clean. I've been asked to give a bid on a 52000 (approx.) sq ft. 3 story building. They want it for a rough and final clean. Have an idea on what I will charge but would like any suggestions anyone has...

It actually depends on the type of premises or building you are cleaning. It is true that charging is always relative to many things; place, competition, costs, economy, union job, etc.

There are to many people looking to do construction cleaning that are focused on how much you charge by the sq foot.

You have to find out what you are going to clean first.

Great subject, and great replies by people who obviously think about things! Thank you for sharing.

I have to assume most of you do not live in Florida. I cannot even imagine pricing that high down here in LaLa Land. Most cleaning people in my part of Florida charge $15/hour for general cleaning. Luckily, the majority of my customers started paying me $20/hour because they like my results so much. I have been considering doing things a bit different. I get most of my clients from two websites that list private and some commercial cleaning jobs. (I get the rest by word of mouth.) I have considered doing this: when I send the customer a quote, I could say its $15/hour for the first three cleanings, and after that, it would be $20. I trust myself to do a good job, but I also understand that people need to see results. Does that make any sense to you guys?
