Some Tips for Gutter Cleaning

There are some tips I would like to share with you. It really helps me doing this stuff easily and effectively.

1: See if thereís no danger: Check whether there isnít any electric line or other cabling going nearby your gutter. Also check for proper water supply and other requirements

2: Search for Hard Debris: Type of debris should be identified. Some debris is hard enough to break your gutter itself while removing them. This happens if your gutter installation is not strong enough. Remove those hard trash with hand first.

3: Flush-out Soft Debris: For light weight debris like dry leaf remains and dust, use some equipment like gutter flusher or a hose and slowly direct them to a proper corner of gutter. This will help you doing cleaning without changing ladder position frequently

4: Final Touch: Use some thin rode or wire kind of material for cleaning the downspout and drainpipes. Keep this as a last step.

Gutters control the water around your home. If debris keeps gutters from doing their job, you can wind up with some serious problems. By following these simple gutter cleaning tips, you can help avoid major and expensive home repairs.Leaking and clogged gutters, rotten wood, leaking roofs, slippery sidewalks, cracked driveways and washed out landscapes are all the problems one faces. If you think your gutters need a good cleaning, here are some important tips to follow:

Safety First: If you are not comfortable with heights or don't use tall ladders regularly, cleaning gutters is not a job for you. Consider hiring a handyman to help. If you decide to do so start, using a ladder, work gloves and a hose. Clear the gutters beginning at one end and moving to the other. Always work from the ladder and not from the roof.Once the gutter system is cleaned and properly adjusted, consider installing gutter guards to avoid a repeat performance in the future.
Maintaining a clean gutter is the single most effective way to avoid a whole host of serious and expensive problems.

The Best Advice is if you're not feeling confident or are frustrated, don't go up there and clean, you are doomed. Also adjust what method you use to clean to the different challenges presented to you by each roof. Don't just stick to 1 plan. Obviously don't work on a wet roof. In my opinion it is more dangerous to work from a ladder than up on the roof. Don't get Gutter Guard. Make sure you unblock the downpipes or you have wasted your time. Leaking Gutters: Clogged gutters are the number one cause of basement water problems. When gutters are clogged, roof water overflows and accumulates around the foundation. If this happens, basement leaks may be moments away.

Cracked Foundations: Clogged gutters can cause excess water against the foundation wall to weaken the footing and lead to foundation wall cracks. This is particularly true in the colder months when built-up water at the foundation freezes and causes a condition known as "frost-heave" which can cause severe cracks to foundation walls.

Gutter Cleaning Tips to Avoid Major RepairsRotten Wood: Water backing up from clogged gutters will cause moisture damage to the wood fascia around the house. The rotted area will quickly get worse if the leak is not eliminated by cleaning the gutters.

Leaking Roofs: In winter, ice dams can form on top of clogged gutters. Snow then builds up across the top of the clogged gutter and freezes. During the next thaw, water running off the roof is blocked by the frozen snow and backs up into the house. This can lead to major wall and ceiling damage.

Cleaning the gutters in your house is one of the most important things to do, if you want to prevent water damages to your property and thus saving money from repairs. House owners must clean the gutters at least twice a year.
They should always wear proper equipment such as gloves, a dust mask, safety goggles and use a ladder.

Do not step in the valley of a roof while cleaning gutters. It will cause a leak.

Easy tips to clean gutter:

Have a good extendable ladder
Use a plastic scoop to remove the gunk
After you have cleaned the muck you could flush the gutter with a garden hose.
