Adwords help!

Hello, looking for advice for adwords. I have spent along time trying to get our site developed through SEO and continue to daily but dont seem to have much luck with adwords.

Are clicks and impressions are good, 30 clicks per a day but for some reason we struggle to turn clicks into sales. People are spending a few minutes across the site so we are gathering interest. I think the site is pretty good (views welcome) the call to action is good, quick info, quick decision but clearly not.

keywords seem to be working pretty well but could do with abit better long tail searches, localised searching as we are based in london is good. Average 15 clicks per a day across the site.

What are we doing wrong?

I do not know a lot about UK word usage in cleaning services but I can throw in my 2 cents.

First, when I go to your page, it seem cluttered. I get lost in your home page and I am overwhelmed with the information. Do you need menu bars on the top and the left of the page? I would get rid of the menu bar on the left hand side. I would move the information below the yellow buttons for "020 8240 8630" and "Instant booking" to another page. I like the top of the page, it is crisp. This may help your people stay longer.

I am assuming that in the UK like the US, that people don't really care about "your company" they want to see what it will do for them. I noticed that most of your pictures are of your equipment or clean rooms and you use "we" and "our" a lot. If you look my site http://www.maidtoshinecleaners.com/ you can see that we try to talk about our customers as much as we can and we use pictures of people enjoying themselves. You may want to change your H2 at the top of the page, I did not even read it because it was too long, it never caught my eye. This may help people to stay on your site.

I am sure that you are aware, but http://www.google.com/trends/ is a great keyword tool. When I analyze your page it shows that your top key words on your site are: 1. Cleaning, 2. Service, 3. domestic, 4. tlc. Those all seem good, however I don't know what words are good where you are. Your 2 word key words are: 1. tlc domestic, 2. 570 269, 3. carpet cleaning, 4. 269 sl. These do not seem so good, I don't even know where the 570,269 is coming from.

Do you know how long your ad words people are spending on your site? We use http://clicky.com to track this, and our average ad words visitor spends 2 minutes and 43 seconds on our site with an average of 3 clicks. We also use this to remove our competitors from seeing our ads and costing us money.

I do not know how long the site has been up, looking at whois I see it was first created 2007-05-29. I also see that you have a google page rank of 0/10, not good. However, your alexa rank is 4.4 million which is not bad. Your page authority is 30/100, which is not bad. What is your organic search ranking? I tried to see what you look like at http://www.google.com/adpreview under "carpet cleaning" I do not see your website.

I know you are in London, so I am sure that it is a tough market. I am also sure that the ad words expense is large.

Hope some of that helps, best of luck to you. Feel free to nit pick my site too! It always needs help.

Crista, Many thanks for your comments. Its always good to get feedback positive and negative. I will start to look through your comments in more detail. for sure i think the site has too much going on, it recently had a change of images so need to re-look at this.

London can be a very competitive market where we can spend 10 per a click through adwords. Will have a nosey round your site and leave my comments in due course.

Many thanks once again

Adwords cost to much money. Work on SEO for your company. Focus on a few keywords like I did "Carpet Cleaning Las Vegas" "Carpet Cleaners Las Vegas" and you will get better results in the long run.

Seo / Adwords

Seo is very important of course but in this type of business you need instant results, SEO can be promising long run and will of course be the cheaper option but there needs to be a combination of both.

AdWords is a good option for many business owners not getting the ranking for their keywords in Google, you need to consult a good AdWordsmanagement experts to make more profit with less expense, discuss about ROI with them and ask them what they can do best for your business.

When we started with adwords we set up a Google adwords express page http://www.google.com/adwords/express/. I would always go with Google Adwords over Adwords Express, however when we started I did not know what words to use. Make sure to look at Google Trends for great info too http://www.google.com/trends/explore...house+cleaning

The biggest problem i see is that many cleaning companies aren't using adwords properly. I do a search for " rochester cleaning service" from michigan and Rochester New York shows up in adwords. So make sure if your targeting cities that you use the adwords geographic feature or miles around a radius. do everything you can to eliminate those people that are not the target buyer. use negative keywords whenever possible to eliminate job searchers and other nonrelevant traffic. Also I've found I get better CTR and sales when I target high income cities, which makes sense....so compare leads from one city to another with adwords. Eliminate your poorly performing cities when utilizing expensive forms of marketing like adwords. Im spending $1 a click....price is based on quality and relevance of your ads as well as competition.

Great info Majestic. I too have noticed that I get odd things pop up in my ads. It is such a waste to throw money away on someone 500 miles away from your service area.
