Billing/Invoicing and collections

Just wanted to see how you guys handle these business issues with your janitorial customers. When do you guys normally do your billing and what is kind of due date do you give customers? Do you make them "pre-pay" for service or go a month in and then bill? How long do you give them to pay?

Thanks in advance for your responses

We bill at the end of the month with Net30 terms. For commercial janitorial clients offering terms is essential to doing business.

P.S. I found an Excel Invoice template on the internet and adjusted it to fit my needs. Here is a sample invoice

Thank you so much.. My market seems to be bearing .05-.10sf for janitorial, closer to the higher end.. Is that good enough for me to jump into this business? Is that enough to grow and have a sustainable business to provide for my family? Our cost of living is about avg here. Gas is 1.98/gal and real estate is about $100/sf..

Usually payment terms are 30-45 days.
