Please help me start my office cleaning business
Hi everyone, I am new here and was looking for some advice. I would like to start an office cleaning business and was wondering if you could tell me the best ways to go about starting one up. I currently clean a couple houses of acquaintances and I really enjoy it so I would like to take this to the next level and start a real business, but focus on offices. This is because I can go out to clean when my husband gets home from work so he can watch the kids. Here are my questions:
I will form an LLC but do I still need insurance? If so, what kind and how do I get it?
What are the best ways to acquire clients from scratch? Is it inappropriate to walk right in to offices with fliers? What should I say and should I give them a quote right then? Any other ways to find clients in the beginning?
Does anyone have a sample bid sheet that they wouldn't mind sharing? Or know where to direct me to one?
Can you also share or direct me to any other business forms I may need?
What about a contract? Do I need one and what should it say?
How often should I invoice clients? Once a month? Twice? Do I collect payment before or after services?
For office cleaning, the work is typically done in the evenings but do some places typically let you come in on weekends?
Anything else I should know? Please, any and all advice is greatly appreciated!!
