Special Touches

Residential house cleaners... What are some special touches you do to impress your clients? For example, I know some fold the end of the toilet paper like a hotel does. I am sure you guys have other tiny details that might go a long way.

Also, what are some things your clients ask of you besides cleaning? If you are a weekly cleaner for the client, do the have you clean everything weekly or ask that you do other things on the second week?

Thanks for the feedback in helping me fine tune the services I offer.

The cleaning should be done everything whenever you go as you know the already cleaned part will not take much effort, but skipping them will not have a good impression on the client. So, always try to work something extra that is noticeable to keep them happy.

I go over everything with the exception of a few things. I have one client that has a shelf with lots of knick knacks that sits high up and dust cant be seen. Its kind of an odd shelf and does take a lot of time to clean. I usually clean that once every 2 months. It doesnt get real dusty even after all that time. I might dust the miniblinds once a month unless its obvious they need it. I do make little folds on the toilet paper roll and if they need a roll I will put one on if I can find where they keep the toilet paper! The only strange requests I have had were from this elderly client last week that complained that I didnt wash her cup she keeps in the bathroom for rinsing her mouth after brushing her teeth! Why not just put in dishwasher and get a clean one. Ugh. Only client ever to request that. Also she asked me to dust her decorative towels she has hanging in the bathroom. They are for show only. I supposed i can use a lint roller over them....never ever thought to look for dust on towels LOL!!!

lol.......well, I clean outside too. Just takes a second to step outside and clean the bug poo off the porch light. Sure makes it look nice when guests arrive in the evening. And it reflects on YOU long after your gone. I do lots of little things like that. They won't choose someone else I can guarantee you that. I'm expecting a couple of them to beg me to return because of little treats like that I give my clients. I have my cleaning so well stretched out in the rotational cleaning I have time to do all sorts of things for them. They love it! lol....
