What to pay employees

Hi, I am having difficulty in trying to decide how to pay my employees.

I have 3 of them. Is it more cost effective to pay hourly or commision based? Also, I live in an area that sometimes they have to drive 30 miles to get to a job, but they use my Van, and I am paying for the gas.

Right now I am paying them commision. Can I ask what most cleaning companies pay their employees and how much percentage if commision and how much hourly.

Does anyone give bonuses for jobs well done?

If I had 1 Team leader and 2 helpers what would they each get?

Sorry I have lots of questions.

Seems most companies average $8-10, but a bit more for specialty services.

One of my employee's is great. She came from Georgia where she worked for a cleaning company for years. She was paid 21% commision when she worked alone, or team leader. If I remember correctly that would drop to 17% when she had another cleaner with her.

I am trying to restructure how I pay and in the middle of redesigning my website, and working cleaning. I am trying to get out of the field so I can concentrate on paper work and getting more customers.

For us, we give commission if our employee finds a gig or new client for us.

Same here we give them a 10% raise of the total of the new cleaning contract. If we win they win, that gets them motivated to find new contracts and work harder.
