Contest Ideas

I want like to set up a contest for CleaningTalk.com to help it get started with a bang!

Anyone have any ideas?
Some things that I would like it to accomplish:
  • New Members
  • Referrals
  • More posts
  • Quailty Client
  • etc...
Thoughts?

I just got off the phone with the WRCLA's henchman E.B. He gave me some suggestions.

Best sanded cedar shake roof done with progressive grades from 60-220
Best Vinyl siding house cleaned with a tooth brush and Top Job
Best high rise building window cleaning done with Windex and paper towels

but his best idea was Best Parking Garage cleaned with Ajax and a toilet brush

We had a Before & After photo contest on ContractorTalk.com that went well... but I'm not sure that gets people posting and referring their friends like I want this contest to do.

One idea I had was that everyone with 100+ posts during a certain time period (maybe July 10-August 10th) got their name thrown into a hat for a free IPOD. We would check the winners posts to make sure they posted quality content and not just a bunch of useless crap.

Also, we would use a referral link that you could send to your friends via email. For each registered referral you would get your name thrown into the hat another time.

Not sure yet... still thinking everything through. These are just ideas for now.

Thoughts?

Poor Nathan probably thinks I am a complete whack job. Should we fill him in on the jokes about good ole Ed?

LOL

Acutally what confused me is that you edited your post. Didn't it use to say something totally different?

I have 100+ posts in less than a week!

When you think about it, isn't that kinda sad?

Thanks for the input guys... I am trying to figure out how to do this right and encourage more active members.

Any other (resonable ) prize ideas?
