Granite Maintenance, HELP!!!

I have run into some problems with the surface of the granite at my clients houses. My clients insist in me using Rock DR Products. The surface of the granite feels rough and not smooth and polished when I am finished. If I am doing something wrong can you help. Is it the wrong products??

Edit: Posted this topic in the wrong forum can you please move it to residential?

sounds like your clients granite needs to be professionally honed. They have more than likely etched it in spots with acids from food or from improper cleanser usage.

Thank you that makes sense. I know that one of my clients had the company that installed the granite come out and polish it but it still feels rough. I was starting to wonder if it was the product. Thanks again.

Hi love2 clean,
Interesting. First off, you might want to check if it's something on the surface of the stone like a sealer. Ask the customer... If a sealer is applied incorrectly there might be a residue- almost like a gummy film or wax. It might even make the stone feel rough. Granite itself is a difficult surface to etch. It would take a highly corrosive material such as drano to actually etch the stone. The best cleaner to use on stone is a ph balanced cleaner.(a ph balance of 7) Try to stay away from waxes and polishes this will only add to the problem.
