Homeowners advised start cleaning garden furniture now
There are many ways that homeowners can prepare their outdoor space so that it shines along with the garden furniture in the summer months.
Helen Elks-Smith, spokeswoman for the Society of Garden Designers, pointed out that this does not need to be a difficult chore either.
Such tasks could include sweeping a yard clear of leaves, washing patios and cleaning the garden furniture, so that it gleams in the summer sun.
"If you grow vegetables, select seed and plan out what and when, keep bird feeders full and clean, take a look at fences and see whether they will need mending or replacing," Ms Elks-Smith also advised.
The barbecue should not be left until the first BBQ party either, with the expert recommending giving the product a good clean down.
Teak garden furnture could be complemented by plenty of colourful bloom this spring too, although Louise Gray, an environment correspondent at the Daily Telegraph, recently predicted that the wonderful nature scene could arrive later in 2011.
