please help

hello everyone,

I an new to the cleaning biz and have a chance to land a new account, its a bank 3200 sq feet that needs cleaning five times a week, however, another company holds the contract on the whole chain and contracts them out. They are responsible for the cleaning of the inside ,outside ,parking lot, windows and snow removal and probably some other things they get a lump sum for the whole thing. I am just going to be doing the general cleaning inside and maybee the windows, the problem is that i dont know what to bid on something like this where someone else is holding the contract, i really need the account but dont want to bid too high or too low, so if someone could give some advice it would really help.

Hello Elite

I feel your pain.

First, it is hard to help you with any pricing as the scope of work is real vague.

Second, I personally have strong strong thoughts on sub-contract work. I rarely hear of people who doing the actual work ever getting a fair deal .

I know you said that you need the work, however if I were to give you the "dutch auntie" speech I would have to tell you that you would be better off hitting the pavement and seeking out your own contacts. Then at least you will control your own destiny
