Using this site for search engine optimization

Hi,

I've noticed on this site, more than other sites, that quite a few posts are gibberish. After the poster spews completely nonsensical or very obvious information, they list the name of their cleaning service.

I'll make up a shortened example off the top of my head:
To adequately or well clean house or dwelling important to use effective methods with water and cleaning. Cleaning makes healthy removes debris. Healthy House Cleaning is good.

My question is does this work? I'm thinking it must or people wouldn't do it. I heard that inbound links to people's websites improve their Google ranking. I'm new to this though.

Send a message via Yahoo to Edinburgh Gutter Cleaners
I think anyone who does join for those purposes should only post relevant quality information relating to the original post.

I agree with Edinburgh Gutter Cleaners, using a Forum for SEO purposes will only work if posting with quality relevant information in combination with several other avenues, like adwords. There is no magic wand for SEO

I don't think it really works if you just put the link in your signature, it's really not relevant to every single post people make.

Hi Francis! Yes, there's a lot of that going on. I've been studying the google algorithm for quite some time, so there is some truth to what some people are doing; HOWEVER, that is just one small piece of the bigger puzzle. If ALL the other components are in place, and only then will you rank on page one.

There's not a lot of cleaning forums out there and some people seem to think links have value. Or perhaps they are just sharing a bit about where they work and/or where they are from....

Getting backlinks to your site is one strategy, but Google's algorithm is getting more sophisticated and can weed out junk links. Years ago these junk links may have worked, but now relevant links are much more important for SEO.

Internal back linking elevates Google page rankings, many people believe that only external link through various sites only provide best results, but according to Google algorithm both internal and external back links are counted by the Google engine. These days people are creating both internal and external back list lists and they are cloning them.
