I don't use vinegar to clean floors. Instead, I use Bona hardwood floor cleaner on wood floors and simple green or another multipurpose cleaner diluted for non-wood floors. For basins, I would use diluted simple green or another multipurpose cleaner.

I wouldn't use it for hardwood, but it works alright for linoleum I think. I am not expert though. Its awesome for stove tops, i know that from experience.

May I suggest not incorporating vinegar in to you cleaning regiment.

It is effective in hazing wood and laminate floors
After prolong use, it dulls hard floors (again the haze)
It ruins marble and granite as well as etches itself in to other natural stones
It can be a respiratory irritant if not used properly

There are so many other natural products (ingredients) you can use that are more effective and less harmful than vinegar.

Cleaning with vinegar is a cheap way of cleaning your windows, bathrooms and homes without resorting to harmful chemicals or expensive, commercial products.

Cleaning Floors with Vinegar:- These can be cleaned with vinegar. Add 1/2 cup of vinegar to a bucketful of hot water. Mop the floors as usual. This will help whiten the grouting and take off the crease.

I always use vinegar for jobs that have a strong odor. I use it to clean the washing machine, the kitchen sink, and for the microwave, I heat 1:1 water and vinegar to boiling and everything just wipes right off! I sometimes even use it to clean floors, but only occasionally.

Vinegar works great on windows and as a floor drain deodorizer. I would advise against using it on floors regularly as it can cause a dull finish after prolonged use. Instead, mix some hydrogen peroxide with hot water and your usual chemicals on floors.

Vinegar works great on stainless steel sinks. Have never used it for floors.

We use Vinegar to clean floors all the time. It gives the best results when mixed with Bicarbonate of Soda and Borax. No matter how dirty the floor is, this mix will make it shine. Use a mop after scrubbing the mix and the difference in the floor cleanliness will be very obvious.
