google can penalise if there is a sudden spike, so if you are manually submitting articles to sites that actually check the articles you should be okay. when the articles are manually checked by a human you have no idea when they are going to be agreed - sometimes it can take up to a week.

I looked through a few article sites and checked out their PR score and the list of the ones I used as they had the best score and were relevant (or generalist) sites are:

www.articlealley.com
www.articlesfactory.com
www.articlesbase.com

Ezine and Hub Pages really are the best..go articles is a great site but doesn't get you very far in rankings. The articles I write for Sun Coast Cleaning have to be localized so you may want to try that by using forums like these and other local sites and postings.

Article submission is a link building technique to get back links to our site. This is really very beneficial as providing valuable back link but it can be harmful if done in large access. Article submission should be done in slow and steady manner, like submitting any article and in the month stating and that wait at least for 7 days before submitting another article. It will help the site to rank well in a better way.

For SEO purpose the ideal article length 400-500 words with a keyword density of approximately 2%-3% while discussion has been increasing lately on the effectiveness of longer or shorter article, it remain general practice to submit article in the 400-500 word range.

Article Submission is a great off page technique to increase back link to your website. For SEO purpose article length should be 350 to 500 words and try to submit in quality article directory.

Articles are a very useful and effective way to get links for those long tail keywords. It use to have more influence in rankings but since the Panda updates article links lost in value but none the less should be disregarded.

Excellent form of seo and link wheel designs if done correctly. Be careful what methods you use though because some could have an adverse effect to the positioning of your site.

As compare to other services, article submission are easily noticed by the search engines because they give the detailed information about your website which helps to gain direct traffic.

Article submission is the best way to increase the back links of your website. So basically the more article directories you submit your article to the more back links you will have for your website.

One other thing to add about article distribution is that yes, it is extremely effective, however don't rely on that as your only source of SEO. Until your website is heavily indexed by Google, the links from the articles will often only show temporary improvements in listing. As soon as the articles are no longer indexed, the listing will revert to its normal position without a strong campaign to back it. Just a tip for successful distribution.

Unless you have a good SEO campaign to back you, heavy article distribution won't usually yield anything beyond temporary results!

Article submission is ok.. but as with all SEO, you need to get links from a variety of different places. Most article directories wont actually get you any traffic, they purely just for backlinks. Get links from as many different types of sources you can!

You should post one article in one directory and if you want to post one article in different directories you should spin it and never spin it more then one time hope you will get good results.

Haha, love the smiley.

I would be careful with article submission, especially in light of Google's latest "Penguin" update which targeted linking schemes. An article submission site is not necessarily a "linking scheme," but Penguin has hit sites that even appear to be linking schemes. If a site with your articles has been penalized, backlinks from that site could hurt your rankings too.

Be careful which article sites you use. Look for legitimate sites with some authority (my favorite is Hub Pages, they got hit by the previous "Panda" Google update but have made changes and are recovering), and submit unique articles to each. Having the same article on 100 sites doesn't help you as Google will only index 1 copy when it finds duplicate content.

Good point. I think Google is looking for "unique" content, meaning new and not dupicated.
