I think some people touched on it best;

It isn't a single form of advertising that alone will do everything. In my past careers of advertising and marketing, it is the repetition that counts. Word-of-Mouth can get you some business, but then when you possibly hit someone with an advertisement that has already heard of you through word-of-mouth, it will stick.

Our marketing tactic follows some of the previous suggestions - corner a small hyperlocal market and expand. It is more cost effective overall. You become known in that hyperlocal community and it starts to grows rapidly.

Take a look at Southwest Airlines.. they didn't conquer the whole world at first instead they built up each hub individually first.

There are so many different ways to try to market your business and we always work on coming up with new ideas. We currently send out quarterly ads for referral rewards with our invoices, we work with 2 large FM radio stations and clean their facilities in exchange for radio advertising monthly along with some money, employ salesperson, telemarketer, logo our vehicles, etc.
Over a period of time, the hope is that something will stick!

Focus on the repetitiveness of the will find that after hitting the same target market over and over with different forms of marketing that awareness will build, and when they do finally decide to give into the idea of paying for cleaning your company will be the first they think of to call. This means hitting the same houses with door hangers 3 times in a row, with directmail 3+ times in a row, with print/online/news ads 3+ times in a row. Consistency is key here every 2-3 weeks. Remember to also keep your branding recognizable and consistent across your marketing. Spend more on marketing and you'll be spending less on overhead on a per job basis later down the line.

I think this is a good technique to get started. But you should start building your network by making accounts on social media sites. Working on social media sites will be useful for you.

Social Media Marketing

Hi There,

According to me, the best marketing technique would be to work on social media sites. Social Media Marketing is probably one of the best ways to promote any kind of business. Useful sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn all these are concerned to be very helpful for marketing your services or products. Email Marketing or Video Marketing can also be effective methods of marketing the business.

In my opinion to promoter you r business telemarketing is the best way. I think you should make a call center setup by which you could convince peoples by making calls at their home. You could also get feed back about your products and servi9ces.

My marketing has been the following:
1. I just got listed on Bing, Yahoo Local and Google ( I am still waiting on confirmation letter to activate it).
2. I have my website and I am working hard at SEO
3. I just signed up with Service Magic. I have gotten leads from them( no conversions yet). I am very diligent at returning the calls almost immediately, but I hardly get to speak with the potential clients. If anyone has had success with SM please give me the right tips on converting leads to clients.
4. I have placed on CL and Backpage, OLX, Ebay classifieds every day.
5. I have also join Angie's list and Yelp

So I would appreciate a lot of advice from ALL of you seasonded pros. As a morale and confidence booster, I have written myself a $250,000 check, that I intend on cashing in Dec 2012

check this, it has everything you require..

SEO is very effective including blogging, content marketing, we need to develop quality content and promote it over interested audience. Social media presence and user engagement in our product and service can certainly improve visitors and conversions hopefully. If we have a budget we can try paid advertising as well and having a salesperson is A++.

for us, we get the best return from SEO, followed by flyers/doorhangers, postcards, and good ole fashioned cold calling.
