Direct Marketing postcards

Hello All,

I am new to the site and have had a interior cleaning business for about 6 months. Things are going well and I wish i found this forum when i started.

I am putting together a direct mail campaign with postcards. I want to have a postcard that grabs their attention.

Does anyone have any suggestions or samples for cleaning business? I know i need a strong headline and maybe an offer. What else can i put on there that would be spark an interest?

Free reports? sign up for newsletter?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

That is a great site. They look like they do quality work and a good price $200 for 5,000 postcard is a great price.

Thanks

Vista print is good with postcards and most of the time they are free and all you pay for is S&H.

that is a good site with the pricing - I have a question though, are you buying the mailing certificate from the post office to do bulk mail?

Here's a good three step process for postcards:

Show them
Tell them
Tell them what you've just shown them

Keep the message very simple, and make sure to include a very simple, big bold call to action.

Overnight prints is good too. I dont know about their design services, I design my own stuff, but they are fairly priced, and fast with printing. I just got 1000 postcards for like $40 with a coupon I found online.

I printed more than 2000 postcards more than 6 month ago and now I still have 1000, because after the first thousand I found out that postcards don't work at all for me(

I got mine from Vista, real nice looking and I haven't received any calls, not even one on the postcards. Online advertising has been the only method that has been sucessful.

I think direct marketing is a great alternative in a slowing economy. It can be far more targeted.

Direct mail is a good way to spread this business around, but also, if you can afford the time, you can circumvent the mailing costs by distributing the ad pieces by hand, or if you have a buddy that works with you, pay him to do it. Door to door, or car windshield.

But mailing will work as well, and you can use saturation lists to hit specific neighborhoods carrier routes or larger areas such as zip codes/city.

Printing costs for postcards run about (for 4x6 postcards) run like this:
1000 full color both side: anywhere from 70-100 dollars.
5,000 same, no mailing, 154.00,
10,000 same, no mailing, 250.00

yep, postcard printing is a cheap direction. It's the mailing that can run the costs up, specifically the postage. But if you use a direct mailer to mail for you then they presort the mail and bar-code it, saving money on postage and paying for the mailing service in savings.

Another form of advertising you may want to consider is door-hangers. I have an inclination, (although I am working for a postcard niche sales company), that door-hangers will be more powerful for home improvement-esque services. But still, it will take you using your time legs to hang them or purchasing the legs and time of someone else. (btw my company does doorhangers as well, but we do not advertise them on the website-- we just havent been able to enter the internet market yet due to lack man power)

--
We have good reports back from lawn services using direct mail campains, we havent had much business from pressure washing to have mucho supportive testimonials.

The best way to do online advertising is with your own website. Once you have gotten your own website, sign up for yahoo locals, google maps and yellowbook. These are all free ways to get your site listed. You don't have to have a website to use these but you can link them to your site if you do have one. Next, put informative stuff on your site that will draw people to your site. For example I have this on my site: http://www.wall2wallcleaningservice....ate-Odors.html
Hope this helps.

postcard results

http://www.chem-dry.net/action.ga check out my website there in the middle of the page is a postcard I just recently sent out it is like a 6 x11. I sent out 5000 of them printed and postage $1,800 got about $8,000 return in about a months time. The postage is actually the majority of the cost when doing postcards. I think it was around $1,200 dollar of the 1800. Customers do love those cards though

Any Marketing Suggestions for Office Cleaning

I read a lot of great marketing ideas here. Anyone have any suggestions for marketing for office cleaning. Mailing brochures and fliers don't seem to be working.
