Let me tell the interested a story,
I've been posting around under my real name for years now. Right now I am obviously using my handle(adbox), but my real name is out there as well.
Recently I took a job as a webmaster and
SEO attendant and began posting on blogs, leaving legitimate content, but using my real name as an alias and linking to my company's website, which is postcardpros.com.
After a while of doing this, I ran a vanity check on my name, to see what ranked the highest out of my internet adventures, and oddly enough the first search result for my name was my company's website.
My name doesn't appear once on their website! But I thought about it and realized the reason this happened is because when I linked to them, back when I was posting blogs for them, I used my name as the link anchor text. This heavily associated my company's website with my name, hence the results.
So as already mentioned above by another poster, when marketing your website across the internet, use the keyword you want to rank on as the link anchor.
note my signiture below. : ) follow it too, if it interests you! : D Our business is direct mail postcards-- but we do not really have any predesigned templates for this industry yet. so that is kind of misleading. But we will in the future, and we can design one anyone on the cheap. But I digress, ... keyword's in link anchor.
