giving gift cards to potential customers to secure meetings?
Is it a good idea to offer my potential customers gift cards for meeting with me and allowing me to give them a free estimate? I thought it would be a good way to get my foot in the door. Has anyone else ever thought to do this? Whats a good ammount? $5...$10...$15? Keep in mind I'm in the beginning stages of my office and commercial cleaning business. I currently have no accounts and have been marketing for just over a month. I've sent direct mailings handed out flyers(no one seemed thrilled to receive them), I've done a few craigslist ads all to no avail. So I thought giving gift cards a try. They would be for places like WaWa(a local general store that sells coffee, doughnuts, hot and cold sandwichs, and an assortment of drinks and snacks as well as gas...a VERY popular place which is open 24/7 and isquented by local business folk) and Dunkin Doughnuts.
