Marketing- where and how

Since my last post I have landed the 2nd building for my cleaning business which is fantastic.
I have hired two employees and all seems to be going great except...finally feel like we're stepping in the right direction as far as learning how to strip/wax vct which btw is a major pain in the rear, nonetheless I feel it's imperative to know this area as I think future clients may need the service.......

On the agenda for 2016..... MARKETING and educating myself and my employees in new areas of the janitorial industry. Also, I'm going to seek information and or seminars related to carpet cleaning, stone care, green cleaning and as we move forward I'm sure there will be other areas I'd like to include. So if anyone has any advice regarding this please do share

I've recently had a website built and landed my Biz info on Google, yahoo business, Bing, YP, care.com. However one area I'm struggling with is getting my info past my local area. Even though I included a 75 mile radius from my zip code, whenever I search for janitorial service in other areas other than my zip code that are close by my town I do 'Not' find my info. Anyone have experience with this issue?

Just curious how others market their business? Cold calling, door to door, mailings, social outlets? I have a gal that is experienced in marketing via social outlets however I'm not so sure our line of business would benefit from that. Anyone using this route?

Also, where the heck do I find the info to sign up for the membership here? And........ Yes from time to time I need someone to take me by the hand to lead me around...I openly admit it lol

Followers usually don't go far in any business. You are suppose to be the leader.

Why would you want to do business more than 75 miles from your area? If that's the case it would be better for you to move to where you want to do business at. Maybe I could live in Milton, Florida and do business in Clinton, Missouri 12 hours apart..... doesn't seem too smart looking at it like that does it?

Marketing.... you could waste millions if you listen to marketing people. You said you was curious which way others marketed.... all of the above plus any other way you can think of. It's a tough game. As for floor work, personally, I think there is more money in floor work than janitorial. But I'm not a commercial guy so I could be mistaken... I doubt it but it's possible
