Just wondering what software everyone uses in their day to day operations?

We use Xero for books... works well. I think it's available in the States now too.

We are taking over an existing business in October.
The first change will be to put a Google calendar up so our clients can see when we are available.
If that is well received we will add the ability for them to schedule their own time slots. If a new client enters a full address google can present you with a map to the location. This is a built in function but there are apps that will enhance this function. Appointy is one such.

And if that works we will move probably to Appointment booking pro

check out bidcleangrow.com. specifically built for commercial cleaning.

-task management
-quotes
-custom proposals
-calendar feature

For me it helps with relationship management. If a customer tells me something important, ie complaint or special request it goes in there. its my brain. The quotes tool is pretty nice too. really simple.

hope that helps,

Jesse

Quickbooks is a really good piece of software for accounting and what not. Another one that I have found that I really like is working point because its cloud based so you can check it from any computer. Its also really useful for looking up customer information that you may not have on you at the time. Hope this helps.

web-based scheduling software

We have a piece of software called Malinko, which is web-based like xero and quickbooks, but I won't talk about the benefits of that here - instead you can see what someone else is saying, such as: http://peter.evans-greenwood.com/2010/02/10/the-benefits-of-saas-beyond-low-cost-2/ It has been designed to help small businesses hold all their customer data as well as schedule jobs and manage their staff. I won't do a sale pitch. Although it has been proven in other sectors, we are really keen to get people in the cleaning sector using it and are looking for people to use it for free and give us feedback about how it would best serve your sector in particular.PM me or contact me through the website if you are interested!

Cool deal, thank you very much. I completely looked over that link and for some reason only saw the review link.
