What to put in a form?

I have a landing page with a "need more info" form, but I am having a hard time figuring out what information to ask for in the form and where to keep the information. How do you set up an auto-responder to say that I got your request for more information and here it is?
I would also like to create a newsletter and send it out to my email list (once I have one), but I am not sure how to go about this.
Any suggestions?

It depends on how your website is built. If you're using WordPress there are some great plugins you can use to integrate with mailing providers and can store your responses. What did you use to build your site?

I use weebly and the form allows you to link to a 'hidden' page on your site. Mine just says thank you for completing the form and we'll be in touch ASAP. If you need something immediately, give us a call. I also have a great program available that once they hit submit, my phone rings and allows me to connect them immediately. This is used with ANY form that sends an email notice to you when complete. It's my secret weapon and allows me to contact them before they shop around while waiting for me to contact them once I receive the email. It all happens within 60 seconds of them hitting submit!!

freelists.org is the best free tool for newsletters. Regarding the form, the less the better. People don't like filling forms or giving personal details. Just the things you consider important to know about the client before the first contact. Good Luck!

Ok update and more questions...I started using Wordpress and Mailchimp plug-in. I have tested it a few times and newsletters work fine, but no automation for new subscribers to get their free gift without upgrading to paid version. Are there other ways to do this for free?
Also, my test newsletters go into the "promotions" folder of gmail accounts. I asked my bf if he got it and he said no. A week later he said he found it there. My other friends said same thing. How can I avoid my readers from having to search for it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
