Roof Cleaning a Tampa Tile Roof by PEERLESS
Hi folks, please enjoy this Tampa roof cleaning article about cleaning flat cement roof tiles with a very steep pitch. We enjoyed cleaning the tiles and this job was a bit of a challenge, so I would like to share some pictures with you.
The first picture displays the steep pitch of this roof. All of the valley's had pine straw and broken down leaves sediment packed in them. We use extendable painters poles (18ft) with a hook attached at the end to grab and pull the pine straw back to us on our ladders.
After we have cleaned out all of the valley's and gutters we rinse the roof tiles down with our 0040 soap nozzle on the pressure washers. We feel this is a very important step, removing old leaf sediment and other dust and debris that the cleaning mix will not take care of. This time we just attach our 12 foot aluminum lances and again, shoot from one of our ladders.
Aiming at the lip edge of the tile removing years of sediment will allow the roof cleaning solution a free path to attack the algae and mold feeding upon the tile. This also is a good time to fully rinse out the gutter system and make sure the downspouts are flowing.
Finally after much preparation, our roof cleaning solution is applied with the normal non pressure method. The tiles are saturated with the solution starting with the darkest stains until the entire area of the roof we are working is covered. Touch ups are done as needed after the entire roof has been sprayed.
Hope y'all enjoyed the pictures and thread!
Stay safe, TP
