This one is for Don, I don't clean roofs as such, but like the look of your wand/lance. I use a shuflo pump set-up to put down chemicals etc of flat surfaces, decking etc all the usual chemicals, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide etc, does your wand handle these ok? Do you have a web-link, and could/would you ship to the UK.

Many thanks

Roger

Sorry for the delay, Roger.

I can give you a parts list and you will be able to make your own if you want or we can try to work something out on shipping one to you. The wands are largely comprised of pvc so it's probably much more economical to do it "in-house."

Let me know what your thoughts are and we'll take it from there.

Hi Don,
Yes a parts list would be good, also if you could send the cost of the wand, I know I'll have to add shipping etc so I can compare what it would cost to put together over here. Do you have my email address?

Many thanks
Roger

Many thanks for the list Don, I'll start pricing up materials asap, and let you know. It will be at least a couple of weeks at the moment, as a load of work has just be confirmed one is for 900 square metres of crazy paving (concrete) bring it on !!!!

I use a prehistoric looking version of the Phelps Wand. I like the swivel action! I have only used these kind of wands.

I ran into Chris a couple days ago at the "love bar" and he was going to let me borrow one of his extending guns. It was badass. I would have had to change attached a connect to my hose and had to get to a roof.

Glad you liked it Thomas!
Using wands are a matter of personal preference, some like them, some don't.
Personally, I like a gun, as it puts the nozzle farther away from the roof, letting the pattern develop better.

The wand you seen is a nice one, and telescopes out to 10 feet!

Just the thing when you need that last bit of reach ..

Our "secret weapon", so to speak.

Kinda hard to telescope PVC

I couldn't imagine using a 10' wand along with that heavy hose you use, you must workout.

Well, I used to live in the gym, up until about 5 years ago.
I did weight train, but unlike tall and lanky people who must train heavy to gain size, I was kinda blessed, and cursed with size and musculature Io begin with.
There are 3 body types Barry.
These are Ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph.

Very few people are entirely just one type
Here is one example, my younger brother http://www.jamiesairconditioning.com

He is a pure Mesomorph, and was born with muscle from head to toe.
I was not so fortunate.
I am a mesomorph/endomorph.

Pure Mesomorphs are natures chosen few.
Endomorphs must watch their weight
Ectomorphs are the skinny people.

Because of my body type, I already had size, and so in the Gym I did a lot of reps with lighter weight, but one super heavy set per exercise to keep my strength.

The big hose we use is not the problem some think it to be.
We do not turn our pumps on until all hose is on the roof.

The 10 foot wand is normally used only on the ground, and in limited applications.

We use a lightweight gun, and it also has a screw on wand with angled nozzle holder for tile roofs.

It is a commercially available wand and gun set up, and costs less then 50 bucks.

Thumbs up

I've also placed a somewhat discreet page on our website with a parts list and pics of the roof wand. Go to www.floridaroofcleaners.com and go to the bottom of the home page and you'll see a link for PVC Wand.

It seemed like a good idea since I'm always getting emails about the roof wand. I'm tired of repeating myself.....

Don is correct, Mallard is not what they once were.
Mallard was Alfred Lockyer, and his son.
They had 40 trucks, in their heyday.
The son started Terra Clean, and went his own way, chasing commercial work.
The father sold Mallard out to some new owners, I run into them every now and then.

Mallard also spawned Roof EX, who are very much here in the Tampa area.
They kicked my butt on a job by offering to clean the whole house for what I wanted for just the roof.
Unlike Mallard, they are down and dirty.
