Cleaning Tips for Your Many Different Floors

It is more than likely your house has at least a few different types of flooring in. So cleaning all of these can be tricky, especially when they tend to need different ways of cleaning.
Here are some tips on how how to clean the most common of flooring:

- Ceramic tiling: Donít use harsh abrasive cleaners that might scratch the tiles. Instead use a damp-mop on the ceramic tiles with an all-purpose cleaner. Then dry the floor with a soft cloth to avoid streaks.

- Vinyl floors: To wash this type of floor, use an all-purpose cleaning solution. Test any cleaner in a corner before using it on the entire floor.

- Wood floors: The most effective way of cleaning a wooden floor applying a liquid wood-floor cleaner with a dry wax applicator on a small area at a time. Let it soak for a few minutes, and wipe up the excess. When the floor is dry, buff with a floor polisher.

- Carpet Cleaning: The simplest way to keep your carpets clean is to vacuum regularly. But for an effective deep clean it is best to have your carpet steam cleaned.

Anyone has anything else to add?

Cleaning hardwood floors

If you are cleaning hardwood floors, then use a damp mop but prior to that remove all the dust from the surface.

One of the easiest and most basic solutions for homemade wood cleaners is a mixture of 1/2 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon of warm water. Dip a sponge mop in the floor cleaning solution, and squeeze it several times until the mop is almost dry. Rinse the mop out frequently. There is no need to rinse the floors, but you may want to take a clean cloth or towel and dry any damp areas.

With the current slow housing market, it is now even more important to keep your house clean and tidy when trying to sell.
To give you a helping hand and perhaps some well needed motivation, here are some tips to keeping your house market-friendly:
- Wash windows inside and out, after all first impressions are important. A good tip is to dry the windows with crumpled newspaper and if you can, wash the windows on a cloudy rather than sunny day, because the sun can cause it to streak.
- Clean shower, sinks and bath tubs, to remove hard water spots and scum off showers use undiluted, heated white vinegar. Put in a spray bottle, spray on and leave to soak for 15 mins and then scrub.
- Clean all light fixtures and replace lightbulbs with a higher wattage, these little things are easy to forget, but can make all the difference.
- Put non-essential items in boxes to eliminate clutter, so that viewers can see the whole space, it will also make the rooms look bigger.

These are some genral tips which can help you to keep your carpet clean.

1) When a spot appears on a carpet due to drinks, the first thing we want to do is flood the area with water. Then pour a glass of water on the fresh stain and start to blot it with a dry cloth. Blot enough to remove the excess water. This is a very great way to remove a stain before they set-in and this process will keep your carpet very beautiful for longer time. Some carpet cleaning companies are providing carpet cleaning solutions through the carpet cleaner professionals. These companies are also providing carpet cleaning franchises for those, who want to start new carpet cleaning business.

2) After a regular time carpets may need to be shampoo. This will increase life of carpet and restore its original beauty. When we shampoo our carpet we mostly use a good quality shampoo. The carpet cleaning companies are providing low cost franchise opportunities including equipments and other cleaning material for carpets.

3) For stains they have set in, we can use our favorite spot cleaner to clean these stains. For that method simply dab that cleaner on the carpet and then we have to use a damp cloth to rub the stains. Once the spot is removed then we can use a bit of water to flush the carpet to remove cleaner from the carpet surface. These are some of the very important tips to keep clean your carpet. There are many companies which are offering carpet cleaning solution for their carpet cleaning franchises.

We are cleaning services provider in the UK.Sharing information on Carpet Cleaning Farnchise and how to start a carpet cleaning business.

There is so much that goes into a house cleaning, one of which is floors and carpet cleaning. The floor needs the right kind of treatment depending on your kind of tiles used. Total Clean has put down some really good tips on that.

The best for a regular cleaning for any type of flooring is plain water with disinfectant added, unless it's a heavy sweeping because of a long-absence owing to vacation or other reasons. For tough stains, I advise not to try out anything on your own at the expense of ruining the expensive floors. For example, acidic products can be harmful to marble floor where only pH neutral substances are to be used. Don't risk. Get a professional home cleaner to do it for you.

Smile Tips for ceramic tile floors cleaning

Hello friends i have some tips for the ceramic tile floors cleaning can be helpful to you.....

=> pre-wet a ceramic tile floor before using any cleaners. The water saturates the porous tile and prevents the cleaning agents from penetrating into the tile body.
=> Floor tiles should be always rinsed thoroughly after cleaning.
=> Don’t use harsh abrasive cleaners that might scratch the glaze.
=> Don’t use acid-based cleaning solutions because they can damage the complex silicates in a glaze.
=> Regular maintenance should include sweeping, or preferably dry or damp mopping or vacuuming to reduce grit.
=> Always start with the gentlest method possible, which may be as simple as warm water.
=> Damp-mop ceramic tile with a low pH mild detergent. Dry the floor with a soft cloth to avoid streaks.

You're right about being careful about not using harsh abrasive products. I have ruined the glazing or outer layer of ceramic tiles while trying to clean the grout. Grout cleaners are very strong. Some newer products say they are safe for spraying on the tiles; not just the tiles. Does anyone have any product suggestions?

They will need professional help and cannot do it themselves. The solution to this problem is to hire a company that offer Water Damage Restoration.
In order to avoid such problems, the water damage should be taken care of immediately. While waiting for the professionals to arrive, people should switch off all the electrical appliances to avoid things from catching fire.

I really appreciate all the information. Very helpful! Cleaning water-soaked carpets and floors is difficult under any conditions, but in the aftermath of a storm or flood, contamination by mud, silt, sewage and mildew, can compound the problem. In such cases, a certified mold restoration service provider should evaluate water damage and remove mold.Great piece.
