Cleaning vinyl floors

I'm new to the cleaning industry and have been tasked to improve an existing business to make it profitable and improve our work. I've walked a couple of properties and frankly there are some things that aren't being done very well. The biggest concern is how we are failing to clean vinyl floors properly. I'm getting a lot of excuses about why they can't get them clean. I know that VCT can be a real bear to deal with but the biggest issues I see are that they a) aren't using the right products to clean the vinyl and b) aren't approaching cleaning the vinyl in the right way. I think I can fix the second with some training and moving to a microfiber system. The first though is where I'm a bit lost.

I've done some research on the best products to use on vinyl but they all seem pretty expensive. So after that long winded intro, here's my actual question:

What is your favorite and most cost effective product that you use for day to day cleaning of vinyl floors?

Usually, I use WD-40 lubricant or jojoba oil on a towel and rub the area until the scuffs disappear. And it really works.

I would like to share Tips for Cleaning Vinyl Floors:
1. Keep out dirt and chemicals with a doormat.
2. Keep your floors clean.
3. Shampoo away hair spray.
4. Learn low-impact cleaning techniques.
5. Use the right cleanser.
6. Don’t drench your vinyl.
7. Rinse well to remove all soap.
8. Preserve the sheen.
9. Outfit your furniture and large appliances with protective “feet.”
10. Forgo rolling casters.
11. Before big moves, put appliances and other heavy items on a plywood path.

White Buffer Pad

To get a vinyl floor really clean
1. Get a White Buffer/Polishing pad
2. Cut off a strip from the pad to fit your microfiber 18 inch mop frame
3. Soak/wet the white pad strip in water
4. Apply a cleaner ( simple green- neutral cleaner diluted) to the floor
5. Place white pad strip over the cleaning solution that is on the floor
6. Scrub floor while keeping the floor wet with the cleaning solution. Flip the pad over if it gets too dirty.
7. Once floor has been scrubbed, use a squeegee to squeegee up the scrubbed liquid or vac it up with a wet dry or Use a cloth to soak up the squeegeed liquid.
8. Depending on the levelness of the floor, the squeegee may leave a few spots which can be mopped up.
9. Finish mop if desired.
This is the best method to really clean a floor, that I have found.

Not relevant to day to day cleaning programme but melamine pads work extremely well on vinyl as a periodic solution.

Hi
Firstly, Use vacuum or dry mop to remove dust, hair, and dirt from the floor.
You can use acidic substances like fruit juice, tomato sauce or wine with a paste of baking soda and water to remove stains from the vinyl floor. Rub it on the floor with a soft towel until the stain lifts. Clean the baking soda off the floor with a vinegar and water solution.
Thanks!!
