Usually for stripping and waxing you charge a per square foot price. The actual price varies depending on the job but usually it is around 27 cents to 3o cents a sq foot.
Thanks! you were of great help! I had a job on Sun. the 26th @ a hair salon. The sq. footage was 1,300 and the client was charged $350.00 for a 3hr. job.
I have customers that charge $0.35 per sqft and some that charge as much as $0.55 per sqft for a complete strip and wax. I do know the guy that charges the .55 is always busy too.
my prices for stripping and waxing vinyl tile floors
I charge between .25-.35 cents per square feet on the average. I look at each job and evaluate what needs to be done and how long it will take and I give a fair price for me my cleaners and my clients of course.
I use micro fiber mops for even floor maintenance. I clean and maintain floors every day and I even use microfiber towels for restroom cleaning and office cleaning as well. It costs more money for micro fiber mops and towels but it is worth it.
I work as a contractor and I recently did a strip & wax service for a new company and I'm wondering how much I should charge. The store we serviced was being remodled and these are the specs:
16,222 sq ft. Serviced for 16 days by 2 people for 128 total hours
any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Mr Echoff my name is Joseph Strickland Im in Panama City Fl Ive been in the floor business for many years up till 3 years ago. How ever I was always in the stores not in the management. I woundering if you could pm me with some advice on pricing jobs. Thanks so much for your help.
I wonder if those are good numbers for California? I have not gotten into it yet, but I do have a 175. What else is required? I think it is probably something I should learn even if it doesn't come up that much.
Our experience of matching suitable products to situations in the commercial and industrial fields is second to none - it ensures we provide you with product advice for the most appropriate course of action.
If you are just starting out, you have a choice. To become know as the person who does it cheap or the person who does it well. I never bid under 55-70 cents ft. I have to turn down work at times. Try to plan $75-100 man hour plus chemicals for strippping and waxing.
I used to bid jobs by the square foot, but there are alot more variables that need to be factored in. A small office where you have to move alot of furniture, scrub alot of edges by hand, avoid damaging alot of fragile things that cant be moved, strip small areas at a time, etc.... has to be priced over 1.00 per square foot to be worth your time. IMO. Sometimes even more than that, depending. I wouldn't be below .50 a sq ft unless its a large store with little complications and you have your equipment and system down.
Typically we price per foot. There are a few things to consider when doing so, what time of day do they want the service done and what day of the week. (You'll be fortunate if it's during the day throughout the week. If you have a crew that it's sole purpose is to do pretty much do nothing but floor maintenance then outside of normal-business hours work is to be expected and premium costs wages isn't or shouldn't be an issue. We run a couple crews that can do pretty much any work we get so premium wages (OT) has to be taken into consideration and our customers understand that when it is proposed to them the pricing differences regarding rates.
If items are to be worked around during a strip and wax service we use density levels to account for additional pricing, (low, med, high). Using this method tells us that less feet can be done per hour.
As an example; 200 sq ft per hr (open), 175 per hr (low), 150 per hr (med), 125 per hr (high). This works for us. But, we know what our staff can do under each circumstance. Anyone should find out and document it for bidding purposes. If your staff can do 300 an hr (open), scale it accordingly.
We also take into consideration costs like, loading time, travel time, OT, mileage, etc...
If customer wants us to move large and or multiple items, we charge labor hours to move items and divide it into sq ft price.
Our pricing can range anywhere from $0.40 - $2.50 per foot.
There is no guarantee as to how long a floor is going to take and result in top quality finish if someone else was maintaining prior to you.
You can however to precautions like putting a disclaimer on your estimate stating that it is for removing up to a certain amount of wax and additional layers may require and adjustment on rate to cover your costs.
We are at a minimum of .50/sq ft. Smaller jobs even more per sq. ft. Think about it.......its not worth hauling out equipment/labor for a 250 sq ft job and only charge (@ .50/sq) $125.
Do they also add price of wax and stripper after or is it included
