Been lurking, time to do an intro
Hi guys. I have been lurking for a while and decided it was time to post.
A little background since I will be seeking advice soon from all you very knowledgeable people.
I am starting this business after just selling another. I had founded a niche insurance agency for a industry that had not had anything of that nature before, it blew up fast, I sold it. After that I had started a security company, sold that too shortly after and now I am starting my next business. I have a bachelors in Transportation and Logistics mgt I got while serving as a finance officer in the U.S.C.G. Before the Coast Guard I had served in Army infantry as well.
I picked this industry because of the growth that it is having across the nation. When researching my next business I looked at a list of the countries fastest growing franchises and a large portion of them were cleaning businesses. After much more research I decided that this would be a company I could build up, do what I do to get it a great reputation and community presence and hopefully be able to add more jobs to my local economy. As of now my plan is not to sale it once it is built but instead make it my baby while I continue to start and sale other businesses. It is not that I enjoy getting rid of something I put my time and effort in to but I am a salesman, most sales people work for businesses and I enjoy being a salesman of businesses lol.
My ultimate goal with the cleaning business though is to do what I can for my local economy. There are so few jobs in my area and I have been very blessed by The Lord to be taken great care of so I need to try and help others who are struggling like I was when I separated from the service from being a single custodial parent.
To be straight forward I know nothing about this business outside of what I have learned in my research (which has been extensive) but nothing can replace real world experience. I am hoping that through this forum I can connect with other like minded business owners who hopefully will feel compelled to give me advice as I start this new project.
Also, I have been training MMA for years, I promote MMA events all over the country and have had them on PPV and have used my experience in that industry as fantastic leverage to promote my other businesses. I have also written two books about my experience in the MMA industry and if any of you would like to know how to use your local events to your marketing advantage I would be more than happy to show you where the hidden gold mines are.
Thanks and I look forward to getting to know all of you.
