hello from northern virginia
relative newbie to the profession (april, 2006) and have to say i love working for myself, and so far, by myself. no plans to expand yet as i have enough clients to keep me comfortable (not rich, just comfortable). and need the time off to enjoy living for a change.
my clients are bi-weekly residentials and i also work post-construction for one contractor right now. i cleaned apartments back in the early '70's for a while as a single mom with a broken down automobile. i cleaned in the complex i lived in so i could walk to "work".
have worked literally since i was 9 in my dad's drugstore in chgo. i made 50 cents an hour. by the time i graduated from high school, i think i was getting paid a whopping $2/hr. then college, marriage, 3 kids (rich husband so no work), divorce & back to college, taught school for 9 yrs, then taught teachers for 5. worked at a few horse ranches, cared for an elderly woman for 3 years & finally said...whew. so i started putting feelers out for cleaning clients. i love it!
glad i found the board and hope to grow professionally from the information found here. who knows, y'all might inspire me to start expanding & hiring employees!
also hope i will be able to contribute and maybe help someone out along the way.
thanks for being here...
